ttc help?

Hi everyone.
I'm pretty new to this site. I am currently ttc.
I have had 2 previous mc's so very nervous about falling pg again however the 1st was while I was in pill and 2nd not long after I came off do gp advised that could be cause of mc. We have been actively ttc after a 2 month wait from 2nd mc. AF returned straight away after my mc and luckily I have been a regular 28 day girl. However AF is very very light. TMI ALERT.... I only bleed for max 2 days. 1 day panty liners as only really spotting, 2nd day only 2 or 3 tampax max. This month it wasn't even really red, more like old blood if that makes sense, like I used to get when I messed up my pill that month. I bought some clear blue ovulation tests and got a smiley face this month and last. Does this mean I'm definitely ovulating? My mums not sure as AF is so short. I don't think it really warrants a gp visit and thought you lovely ladies may be able to help? Should I be worrying? Sorry for rambling and thank you for reading (if anyone does).

Hello there - sorry to hear about your MCs; that's v tough on you and I'm not surprised you are stressed. It may take a while for your body to recover from coming off the pill as well as your losses. The smiley faces mean you are getting the right hormone surge at the right time but it really doesn't necessarily mean that the egg is popping. The only way to know this at home is by temping - you get a temp rise just after ovulation as progesterone takes over and prepares for a fertilized egg.

I have recently read a fertility book that encourages you to take three months preparing before you even try for a BFP. This means a really good diet, regular exercise and vitamins for both you and him. I'd also cut right back on alcohol and caffeine. Of course loads of people don't need to do this, but if you have had a couple of MCs it might help calm things down and give you confidence that your body is in good shape before you get into the stresses of trying and waiting each month.

Good luck.

xxx

Thanks bean grower. Sorry I don't think I worded my email that well, my last mc was 6months ago that's why I'm kind of worried if I'm not ovulating.
I'm sure it will sort itself out fingers crossed

Thanks for taking the time to answer

Many people take more than six months to conceive and are ovulating all the while. The only way to know you are oving is to temp or have fertility investigations. Good luck. x

Hello, I'm Faith. I'm really every for your losses. I'm sure it's really difficult ttc after your experience. I've been ttc for ages a while and my af has got lighter during this time. I know only really bleed for a day or two.
Like Beanie says, charting is really helpful to give you confidence you're ovulating. I'd recommend this book Best thing I ever bought in terms of ttc. If you're really worried about af and your fertility, yanbu to go to your GP to get their advice! Have you had your progesterone levels checked around day 21?

Are you very slim? That could be the cause of your light periods.

Littlemissimpatient · 17/04/2012 20:42

Faith thanks for book recommendation I'll have a look.
Euro Chick not particularly size 10.
Not had any blood tests yet gp won't do anything yet wants to wait 12months as I'm still in my 20s.
I'm trying not to stress but it's not easy!
