CD36 in the Big Brother House and still no AF....

What in hell is going on?

I normally have ultra regular periods - 29 days on the dot each month, could set your watch by them. Now I'm on CD36 and no sign of the old bag...but 2 negative pregnancy tests.

Bit of background. I'm 44 and have been trying for about 15 months. I've had two chemical pregnancies and boy, I knew I was pregnant from the off with those. I have NO symptoms of being pregnant now, none whatsoever.

The last two months I had the worst periods I've ever had. Last month's put me in bed for 2 days with agonising cramps and exhaustion from the heavy bleeding and since then...well...nada!

We had sex at the right time, but like I say, when I've been pregnant before, I've known almost immediately. Now I have no symptoms and don't feel pregnant, much as I would like to be - time is running out for me age-wise, and we've been trying a long time :(

Anyone got any ideas? Confused

I'm afraid periods can be late for lots of reasons. Worth trying another HPT if af doesn't show a week after your last test.
Have you been to the gp for investigations?
You could try opks or temping to get a bit more of an idea when you ovulate. But tbh I think you should see the gp in view of the unusual cycles.
Hope you get some answers soon. Good luck.

Thanks Magnum. I should have put that I ovulate between day 12 and 14 every month. I know that I ovulated on or around the weekend of 17th March...and now, nada!

One of my friends at work has pointed out that on both occasions in the last 12 months when I've known that I was pregnant, it hasn't stuck...at the moment, I'm just expecting my period anytime so that I don't get too disappointed when it turns up.

I'm thinking that if it hasn't turned up by Friday, I'll book a GP appointment and see what they say. I'm just a little worried that I'm peri menopausal, given my age and the fact that my mother started the menopause when she was 40/41 :(

Normally prior to my period I get agonising breasts...but nothing like that either this month...thing is, pregnancy has been furthest from my mind recently as I've had lots of other things to think about. Wouldn't it just be typical that it happens when I was least expecting it and although we did the deed at the right time(s), it wasn't the trying in earnest that has happened in previous months. Bodies are bloody weird things! Grin

It's the waiting that's so tough isn't it? My cycles have been hugely irregular (16-48days) since having my DS so I've had my share of waits and bfns but not the long wait you've had.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the bfns so far were just too early and af stays firmly away.

CD38 and still nothing. I was having cramps so I popped in my mooncup in case I started...but (TMI alert), there has just been a bit of brownish discharge and nothing else. I'm utterly confused. I still don't feel the slightest bit pregnant, but I'd like to know where in hell my period is! Confused

Gah!

How frustrating! Could (fingers tightly crossed) it be late implantation bleeding? Maybe test again in 3 days if still no af. If that's negative and you haven't had af then "mid-cycle" bleeding definitely warrants a trip to the gp.
I have to keep reminding myself not to wish time away when I'm later in my cycle, but it's so hard to think about anything else.

desperateoldie67 · 12/04/2012 15:58

I know, it's driving me potty! If my period is going to turn up, I wish it would just get on and do it. It would have to be VERY late implantation bleeding as I don't usually ovulate after 14th cycle day - although this month I didn't POAS to see if I was ovulating, but I get very clear ovulation pains in any case. I'm so boring and predictable with my cycle usually that this is freaking me out.

The only time I have been this late for my period prior to this was when I was pregnant (and didn't miscarry). But that was when I was 18! {sigh}

OK....so I'm on CD42 now.

I'm getting some cramping but it is generally pretty mild. I've been getting a brownish discharge, then it was watery pink but only when I wiped. Now I'm getting a very small amount of red blood, by which I mean about 1/4 of a teaspoon (easy to tell thanks to Mooncup!).

I still don't feel pregnant, although my breasts are sore as hell now. But I also am not having a period as such. I'm going to book an appointment with my GP on Friday if still nothing (and I'm going to take another HPT later this week) but if anyone has any thoughts to add, I'd really appreciate hearing them.
