Hi all,

I hope someone can help, I've been referred for IVF -ET this week and my consultant said I should expect to get an appt to start the process in June, I'm just wondering how normal life can be after that?

For example, I am involved in a 77 mile charity bike ride in July, should I make my excuses and withdraw now?

I guess I should clear the diary, but I don't want to put life on hold completely? Any advice welcome x

Hi there. I'm not sure what protocol you'll be on. But if say you start your injections in June, have your retrieval 12 day after that and then the transfer 3-6 days after that, I would say July could possibly see you in early pregnancy. So it's up to you if you want to risk it. When my IVF was successful I had been keeping to normal life as much as possible, going out etc and just fitting my injections in. I did lots of walking but kept things pretty easy until I started pilates when i was 14 weeks pregnant. I tried to remind myself that most women have no idea that they're pregnant so continue completely as normal, but it is hard to do that when you've gone to such lengths to have a baby and I suspect you'll feel the same when the time comes. Good luck!
