TTC after placenta praevia?

Does anyone know if this carries high a high risk of recurrence? Would not like to go through it again but would like another baby. Have had 3 CS's. Ds3 was born 8 weeks early by emergency CS due to pp.

Chip monkey, at an educated guess would say that your are no more likely tohave placenta previa again, however, having had three sections would put you at high risk of uterine rupture and you should have a long talk with an obs consultant before ttc. Uterine rupture can be fatal to mother and baby. Sorry to be so morbid, but have had recent, not personal, experience...

If i remember rightly I was told that the chance of re-occurance was about 10%

I've had it with both my pregnancies which is very rare apparently. I still think maybe the shape of my womb was to blame (posterior tilting) but lots of women have this type of womb and no problems; I'm just loath to put it totally down to coincidence as the odds freak me out a bit (why can't i win the lottery then?!) The chnaces are slightly raised with a 2nd pg if you had it 1st time due to the placenta sometimes adhering to the section scar on the inside, but this wasn't the case for me as my placenta was posterior both times.

Of all the thousands of posters on mumsnet I've only known of maybe 2 other women who had it twice as well as me.

Thanks for all the replies. I did talk to my obgyn about it after ds3 and he didn't seem overly pessimistic but the MWs looking after me during my hospital stay seemed a bit horrified at the idea of me ttc again. The placenta was at the lower anterior segment though.

Had it with first, not with second. THink it's really very, very unlikely to recur.
