Hi! Sorry to have gone AWOL for a few days - busy weekend and difficult to get to the computer.
Lovely high temp today - 97.9 (I'm a fahrenheit temper). I've been worrying that they're generally on the low side, but as long as there's plenty of progesterone swishing around in there post-ov, then i'm not too worried.
5DPO today - reckon I'll start thinking about testing next Monday. I suspect it's just me who'll be testing then?
coveredinflour - congratulations!! A proper Christmas baby. Be prepared for lots of people to say "Jesus Christ!" when you tell them that you're due to give birth on Christmas Day.........
Very interesting study of factors affecting ov (Can't remember who posted - sorry
). I was particularly interested in this:
"Intriguing evidence suggests that in conception cycles, ovulation always occurs within 24 hours of peak serum LH, but in non-conception cycles, this is pushed out to up to 48 hours later."
That suggests that it's pretty much our ovaries that decide when we're going to get pregnant, and all the carefully-timed DTDing and temp taking doesn't really make a blind bit of difference......
It's done it's work on me though. I haven't used an OPK before, but I think I might try it next cycle (if there is one.......)
Wiggy - temps often drop after menstruation - there's usually a bit of progesterone floating around while you're on, but it's all gone by the time the bleeding stops. I think you'll normally get a result that's about 1/10th of a degree colder for every half hour earlier you take your temp. But better to record a few temps and look at the pattern emerging than to worry about individual ones.
Pipbin - looked at your chart (I know you posted it a few days ago) but I think there's a good chance you ov'd on Day 17. Hard to be sure because you missed a few pre-ov, but they're definitely substantially higher than the ones before. And you haven't recorded any EWCM post-day 17. Do you think that might be right?
