How long after your missed/late af did you get a bfp?

Hi ladies, well I'm currently on cd38 I'm 5 days late basing it on my last 3 cycles of 33 days. Always had a long cycle and has been as long as 46 days in the past usually down to stress, this month had been pretty bad :(

Tested on day 36 an got a bfn, odd thing this month is my boobs are huge but not sore? Usually huge and v painful week before af, also been exhausted no matter what I do an been having very vivid dreams, talking/shouting in my sleep and a great deal of tossing an turning :( I'm hoping I ovd late and have tested too early? On our 2nd cycle ttc no1

Most tests will give you a positive a few days before the period would have come. If you don't know when you ovulated, you don't know that your period is actually late or not. It's just later than usual, but as you say, you could have ovulated late.

My advice is to test again 5 days after your previous test if your period hasn't shown up. Then again 5 days later and if still negative and no period, see a doctor to find out what is up with the missing cycle.
