TWW - not even half way there

Is anyone else in the horrid TWW and feeling time drag? AF due Monday week and feels like forever...

DH and I've been TTC (not very religiously) for just about a year but I've quite bad endometriosis and had to have a cystectomy just before Christmas and they removed an ovary. I worry about getting another cyst and ending up with no ovaries and a womb full of regret, so trying a bit harder now.

Anyway, I ovulated last Monday and for the past couple of days I've had massively tender breasts, am hungry all the time and have quite a lot of CM. DH says I'm being silly thinking this might be it and told me not to get my hopes up but I had to say all the above to someone!

Love to hear from others in the wait...

This is cycle 9 for me and AF is due on the 29th. TWW is an arse.

blackcatsdancing · 17/03/2012 17:44

i ovulated Monday 12th so same stage as you. i just googled earliest you can test and it said some very sensitive tests can be tested from 7 dpo- but there is no guarantee implantation would have taken place. Yes time is starting to drag. This is my first proper cycle since i had a MMC in february. We had plenty of sex at the right time so am being stupidly hopeful :)

Superunknown · 18/03/2012 00:52

So we're all in about the same place!!

It's so hard not to get hopeful isn't it...

DangerMousey · 18/03/2012 09:24

I got my LH surge on Monday 12th and think my period is due next Saturday, 24th (I think I have a short, 10 day luteal phase).

So I am only about 5-6 days post-ovulation, but think I can feel light cramp-y, 'pulling' sensations in my uterus...i am madly symptom spotting, aren't I?? This is more likely to be the rich chorizo stew I ate last night, right?? xx

blackcatsdancing · 18/03/2012 10:04

um yes, more likely to be the stew but you never know! I'm hoping for an implantation bleed so much checking of loo paper will be going on from today until Thursday.

Superunknown · 18/03/2012 11:05

DangerMousey, symptom on no, it's so hard not to get your hopes up isn't it! And the problem is that it seems to me that almost anything can be a symptom (rich chorizo stew sounds delicious btw).

Blackcatdancing, implantation bleed would be very convenient....good luck!

My breasts are still so sore, they normally get sore a couple of days before AF but never this early or this sore, must be "a sign" right...?

OP posts:
blackcatsdancing · 20/03/2012 08:46

ok i cracked and tested. negative- well at 8dpo highly likely to be. My excuse was i bought a packet of cheapies when i had my MC so i could check regularly to see when i got my negative so used the last up. am i the first to test?

SlouchingPanda · 20/03/2012 13:37

Due on Saturday and have been grabbing my boobs obsessively since CD12! They are definitely big and sore perhaps that's why so hoping for the best this month.

Superunknown · 20/03/2012 17:42

Blackcatdancing, 8 DPO, could still get a BFP...

SlouchingPanda, totally with you on the boob front.

AF due for me next Monday. Bought a twinpack of First Response today and going to do one first thing tomorrow morning... Going to really struggle if (when?) I get a BFN because I've really convinced mysekf that this is the month...

OP posts:
Pipbin · 20/03/2012 17:54

If AF isn't due until Monday might that not be a bit early?

blackcatsdancing · 20/03/2012 18:22

i'm not sure when i'm due as this is my first proper cycle after my ERPC. I do know when i ovulated though- however it was far later than i usually do so not sure what's up.
not started squeezing my boobs yet!

Superunknown · 20/03/2012 19:19

Pipbin, you are of course entirely correct - the first response ones reckon you can test 5 days pre AF (then they're something like 65% likely to pick up a pregnancy if you're pregnant). I know it's a long shot but I'm hoping that it will settle me so that I can get on with life without wondering all the time.

Blackcatsdancing, isn't it pretty settled that women get AF 14 days (give or take 1 or 2) after ovulating?

OP posts:
bonzo77 · 20/03/2012 19:33

Count me in! 3 DPO. AF probably due next Wednesday if FF is to be believed, though cycles a bit messed up following ERPC 5th January. TTC for a year now, but did lose 4 months to pregnancy then MC then ERPC then WTF cycle. Too early for symptom spotting here, though boobs quite tender on and off today.

Superunknown · 20/03/2012 19:43

Bonzo77, welcome to the thread. I'm so sorry to hear about the MC and ERPC.

OP posts:
bonzo77 · 20/03/2012 21:52

Thanks super. < waves at blackcats >

The time between ovulation and AF (AKA the luteal phase or LP) is not always 14 days. I believe less than 9 is not compatible with a pg. More than 16 same. The LP is usually the same for an individual woman from one cycle to the next. If that woman's cycle length varies it is due to varying time till ovulation. I used to have a nice 14 day LP but it's gone haywire since mc / ERPC mayhem.

SlouchingPanda · 20/03/2012 23:05

I have resolved not to test until am at least 2 days late... this way I have spent precisely no money on pregnancy tests on over a year of TTC.

Conveniently this strategy takes me to Monday, so if AF hasn't arrived I'll know just in time for my fertility clinic appt on Tuesday. Yikes. Somehow makes it all more real.

Bonzo and BlackCats, sorry to hear of your difficulties so far and good luck to all...

Superunknown · 21/03/2012 07:19

SlouchingPanda, that's such a sensible approach...you do sound perfectly timed this month.

I had a BFN this morning, hoping that will mean I can focus more on life now rather than constantly thinking "what if"...

OP posts:
blackcatsdancing · 21/03/2012 09:28

superunknown its not over yet for this month! The earlier you test you more likely it is you will get a false negative.

i'm unsure of my cycles, came off pill in October last year after many years on it- so my cycles were being artificially regulated, got pregnant 2nd month of trying, sadly had MMC, which as bonzo says kind of messes you up for a while. My first period after coming off pill was very normal, 30 days and luteal phase was probably 14 days. Just glad that body seems far more normal this month.

Hi bonzo (waves back) :) Hope you have good luck this month!oh and evryone.

anyway i'm off for a day out so that will distract me from sypmtom spotting. I must say last night was having some very odd feelings in my uterine area, but won't read too much into that .urgh my cursor has disappeared makes typing rather diff. shall sort out later.

bonzo77 · 21/03/2012 18:49

Just thought id mention my pg symptoms today. 1 constant weeing. 2 wave of nausea first thing. 3. Hungry all day. 4 sensitive to smells. Hmm actually that's all normal so whatever.

Sazzel · 23/03/2012 09:58

I'm on the TTW and currently driving myself mad.

When the smell of the bin makes you feel sick is that because you are pregnant or because you've not cleaned the bin in weeks? :)

My AF is due on 28th March, so far my symptoms this month have been metallic taste in my mouth, sore boobs (probably because I keep poking them) tiredness, and nausea. I was convinced I was pregnant but woke up this morning with that familiar ache in my lower back that usually means AF.

Feel like we've been trying forever, it's actually been 15 months since we started trying with 1 mc in November. I now know more than I ever wanted to know about fertility.

kazzaq · 23/03/2012 10:04

Hello,
I have been lurking around this thread for the last couple of weeks. I can today report that I have a faint positive... Am in shock, I had an ectopic in Dec so m now waiting 2 weeks till I can have a scan to see if everything is where its supposed to be....Fingers crossed.

Good luck everyone who is still in the running :-)

blackcatsdancing · 23/03/2012 11:04

ah yes, the smelly bin... i'm trying hard not to symptom spot as anything can be a sign if you want it to be.

congrats kazzaq, l really hope all goes well for you this time round.

There's a feature on fertility friend about testing and results . Most tests are not positive until the day before period is due so many women are getting false negatives- they analysed thousands of charts. The only thing they didn't know was the sensitivity of the tests being used- so don't despair and try to resist testing early- though i'm ignoring my own advice there !

Superunknown · 23/03/2012 14:01

kazzaq, congratulations, I hope all is well this time round!! Hi Sazzel! Hm, maybe you should clean the bin and then see what happens?

Blackcatdancing, thanks for the link, that's really interesting! And, you're so right about symptom spotting. Today my feet were swollen and I was like "hm...I wonder".

This TTW has turned me into a total fruit loop. Normally I'm quite good at keeping a lid on my expectations.

Sazzel · 23/03/2012 15:52

Superunknown you made me laugh out loud, that is the most sensible thing anyone has said the whole time I've been trying to make a baby Grin

SlouchingPanda · 24/03/2012 08:42

I'm out for this month; was just starting to get my hopes up too...

At least I don't have to clean the bin.

Fingers crossed kazzaq that all is well for you this time, and good luck the rest of you. I'm off to wallow in self pity with a box of creme eggs.
