How long do you wait before seeing the doc?

DP and I have been ttc for 6 cycles, I have not had so much as a vague feeling of nausea or a stomach cramp (that isn't AF related)

My cycles are very regular, 27 days with a luteal phase of 13 days.

I have opk'd and temped off and on, depending on how I feel that cycle.

I am 34, DP is 44.

How long should be wait before we see a doctor and admit the possibility that something might be "wrong"?

DP originally agreed to make an appointment after we get married (July) if nothing happens before, but I'm starting to wonder if we should wait that long, given our ages?

I would be interested to see what everyone else thinks....

TIA

I thought it was 6 month if you are over 35 12 months if not. 6 months isn't that long really. Keep trying and get back on your temping plus you could try ovulationsticks .

I would suggest that, given your regular cycles, it is worthwhile charting regularly so you know that its not just bad timing, iyswim. Then, if you still haven't had any success by DTD when you ov, after a couple more cycles, you should see the GP. I think charting only works if you stick with it. Many 'young, fit, healthy' people take 6mths+ with no particular cause for not conceiving, just dumb luck!!!

Good luck.

I have been charting using FertilityFriend and I know we've been dtd at least 2 or 3 times across the 4 or 5 fertile days each month. There's no doubt about my ovulation in my mind - I know through using temping and sticks that I definitely do ov, and its always around the same time.

That's exactly what I'm caught between iyswim - "its not too long and "dumb luck" " and "OMG I'm nearly 35 should I be seeing the doctor!?"

I'll keep charting and give it until July as we originally planned.

thanks
