Is it normal for the cervix position to change frequently in one cycle?

First month of charting although I have checked signs before. The tutorials suggest that the cervix is low, hard and closed when you're not fertile and high soft and open when you are.
However, my cervix seems to be high one day, low the next and vice versa. Is it normal for it to change so frequently during a cycle?
