im gonna do another in a week, to make sure its a false reading, maybe its an evaporation line, maybe its because its a cheepo, it says 20u on it,(what does that mean?????) can read up to 4 days before period is due. im now 4 days late, small bleed yesterday.

You know what you need to do. Go and buy a decent test and test again.

Preferably before 3.10 when I have to go and collect dc....

20mIU means its quite sensitive - will detect 20 milli international units of hCG in your urine. First response (& superdrug early I think) are about 10mIU so twice as sensitive & can be used 5-6 days before AF is due.

If it is a v v faint line, there are a couple of options; evaporation line, cross-reacting because it was left too long or a v faint positive. The only way to know for certain is if you get AF in full force or by testing in 48 hrs time using first morning urine, whichever happens first.

read the strip after about 3-4 mins, first couple nowt on it, so ignored it.

I used the Wilkinson cheap dip sticks that are 20mIU this week and they are BRILLIANT. Explain what it all means, how it works, why you shouldn't leave it too long- everything. But they are very time-specific. They say you should get a result in 3mins but don't read it after 5...

The point being, without testing again, you won't know. I would use FMU to be sure too. The faintness might mean nothing too, although I would expect to have a fairly conclusive line if you're using FMU, sensitive tests and are late, but ovulating timings & drinking too much fluid before the test can make a big difference in the early stages too.

thing is ive seen evap lines before and they are not pink, just there.

gonna leave it, wait for af to arrive, if not, test again in a few days time.
