Awaiting a consultant's summons, and resolutely staying away from Dr Google. But there's no harm in a little speculation chez MN is there, eh?

Anyone. Annovulatoey cycles whoch are regular. No PCOS. It's a frigging mystery. Or the menopause?

How do you know you are not ovulating? Have you had the post ov progesterone tests or are you assuming you are not ovulating because you are not getting positive results on the shag dictator/ovulation testing kit? Are you temping?

If you are having regular cycles of between 25-35 days long it would be unlikely for them to be anovulatory all the time. Apparently all women get some anovulatory cycles now and then, and these increase in frequency with your age.
If you are using cheapie opks, have you tried changing to a different sensitivity?

Hopefully the consultant will get to the bottom of this. You need the day 3 blood test, the day 21 blood test and possibly a dildocamscan.

Thanks for not letting me be a billy no mates Kat and replying to my post.

I'm not assuming I'm not ovulating and have had relevant tests at the docs -although the CBFM has never found a surge. I was just wondering what causes of this might be, but from what you say it may be just my ancientness.

Would you be a suitable candidate for Clomid or do they have to diagnose PCOS for that?

MadameBoolala · 13/03/2012 12:30

I'm not sure. All rests on the consultant I guess. GP said I should get a letter in a couple of weeks.

Have you had thyroid tests? Hypothyroid can stop you ovulating.

MadameBoolala · 14/03/2012 17:52

Yes - thyroid is normal too.

hmm, ok. My (extremely uneducated) guess would be that they will do tests of your ovarian reserve and assuming there are eggs there, you'd go on Clomid to kick start ovulation. When do you get to see the consultant?

My GP referred me last week - she said it will take 2-3 weeks. Thanks for replying - I hope that's what will happen :)
