I'm a bit all over the place this month as I had my period 5 weeks ago, then had another 3 weeks ago. I'm not testing ovulation yet, although might start that next month seen as my cycle is so messed up.

This morning I tested using the cheap strips you get from ebay. It says it can take up to 10 mins to get a result. So I dipped the strip and lay it on the bathroom floor on some tissue whilst I had a shower. The control line came up fine but nothing else for the first few mins. Once I've brushed my teeth and got out of the shower about 10 minutes must have gone by. There is now a faint but definite "positive" line. My heart skips several beats and I do a little happy dance in the bathroom! I look back a couple of minutes later and its gone?

I didn't have time to do another test and I'm now in work driving myself crazy! Has this happened to anyone else? I know its not a good sign that the positive line disappeared but I'm clinging on for hope!

I believe that this can often happen. I think the instructions in most test say to discard after waiting the 10 minutes (or whatver time the test instructions recommend) as the chemical reactions continue after this time and can blur the result (possibly my making a postive line dissappear, or producting a false positive by creating an evaporation line).

My DW did 3 tests before she was sure beacuse they were all very faint or indistinct (we are due our first in 3 weeks). Personaly I'd recommend you re-test in a couple of days, and if you are still unsure go to your doctor and ask for a blood test.

Best of luck!

Thanks Dudad! I will re-test tomorrow and see what happens.

Best of luck with your little one!

I agree, test again tomorrow. Also, ime the cheapy strips aren't as reliable or sensitive as they advertise - I'd buy a £2 asda test if you think you're pregnant, tbh :)

Hey there. I was using ic too and my line yesterday disappeared after 10 mins. was mega faint but being a POAS addict I was sure it was there... but then thought I was being mad. Did a test the morning and the same happened so got a FRER and have been sat all day next to my lovely clear BFP.

Get a different make of test and hopefully all will become clear!

I had that happen with an internet cheapie. I wasn't pregnant. When I did get a BFP, the positive line on the IC appeared really quickly and was perfectly clear.

I did get a lovely clear line on an ic with my first pregnancy. I wonder if some are just dud?
