So, DH and I have an appointment in a couple of weeks' time to see a fertility specialist.

So far we've had scan, blood tests and SA, results all look ok ish (I have PCOS and minor hypothyroid but am ovulating, DH has low morphology but otherwise ok). So basically no obvious reason why ttc isn't working.

Just wondering what might happen next? Would it be a lap and dye to check for blocked tubes? Would they put me on Clomid (though bloods suggest ovulation is happening). Do they repeat the blood tests/SA?

We've only been ttcing for 10 months so will they just tell us to go away and try for another X months before they will do anything Sad

I know I should just wait and see what they say, but I kinda want to be prepared and know what questions to ask.

thank you!

For me, it was more blood tests to check they'd covered everything and then a hsg slightly less invasive than a hsg but by that point we'd been ttc for 20 months.
Mostly they took medical history about things that affect ttc - relevant medical history, previous children, smoking etc.
Clomid could be an option to boost your ovulation but it depends on what the specialists say.
Can I ask how old you are?

Thanks Phoenix. do you mean hsg is slightly less invasive than a lap and dye? What's the difference

I'm 31, DH is 32 - I wonder if that might mean they don't hurry quite as much as if I was say 38 ?

Yes, they push for investigations after 6 months if you're over 35.
I think the lap and dye is done under GA and shows more detail, whereas you are awake for the Hsg.
I'd prepare if you can by taking list of your cycle lengths and dates since ttc and wait to see what they suggest.

Thanks, good idea. I have all the dates in my calendar but not in a list.

I guess I just feel the need to do something to prepare, makes me feel a bit less powerless.

Thanks for replying Smile
