me again! Just heard something about this supplement...any experience? Recommendations of brands, where to purchase and how to take? My consultant has hinted to it but not prescribed it, and has also advised to continue taking pregnancy vits. Meanwhile further tests being conducted! Keep those fingers crossed for us all girlies x

Hi Wishing - you would have already seen me on the over 40's thread.

I'm not in the UK, I'm in Australia and I ordered my DHEA from the US because I actually can't buy it over the counter here(I'd have to have a prescription).

Two of the ladies on the over 40's thread have used DHEA and fallen pregnant not long afterwards.

I've heard you need to take it for 4 months before it affects egg quality. I take it before ovulation and stop once I know I've ovulated (I take my temperature and I am charting).

The fertility doctors in the U.S usually prescribe 75mg a day - but that is a very high dose and can have side effects. I started out taking 25mg a day, just to see if I had any side effects, and I didn't. Now I take 25mg twice a day, and haven't really noticed too many side effects other than maybe a few pimples, which isn't too much of a bother, and I seem to be losing more hair than usual, but I have thick hair, so I'm not bothered. I don't know if it really is any more than usual or if it is just that I think it is because I'm taking DHEA.

Sorry, don't know how it works in the U.K. But in Australia I didn't have to.
