Zita West Vitamins

Anyone tried these and achieved pregnancy? Sister in Law posted some helpfully. first ones downed today! Did you take them religiously three times a day or was twice a day enough? All comments gratefully read! Grasping at straws really! X

I take them but am awaiting elusive bfp
I find they help regulate my cycle (even though al my tests were fine it still keeps cycle shorter)

I did but am sure any conception vits will do the same job ...

Thanks for the replies girlies! My cycles are between 26-28 days with a luteal phase of 14 days. It's the three times a day I'm having difficulty getting my head round! So...just wanted to know if it gets results: THEN it would.be totally worth it obviously. But, if it's proving elusive (as Mini has found, then I may not buy them for myself after this batch have finished!).

I think these things are a scandalous waste of money. They are preying on people's desperation and charging them totally overinflated amounts.

It can't get "results" because jizz is what does the job, not vitamin pills. They may make you healthier which is a good thing when you are ttc - but Boots own brand conception vitamins would be just as good for that. And a lot cheaper. If you get your man to take some zinc supplements that might well improve his contribution, but you can buy those cheaply in the supermarkets too.

Thankyou KatandKit! You are soo right! We are getting private tests done in London, etc. this is just another inconvenience I could do without frankly! As I've got them now, I'll finish the tub, then consider the one a day preconception vits. Three times a day seems a bit too much really! X

In the early days of ttc I spent a fortune on these. I struggled to remember to take them three times a day, they made my wee bright green and gave me terrible spots. The glass bottle is pretty and I couldn't help bit think that was where some of my money was going. 14 cycles later, I now take folic acid and vit d spray (not for ttc reasons) and eat healthily instead. They do have higher levels of vits but I'm not sure we are designed to take such huge quantities? It felt like I was being made a mug of!

I have a cupboard full of them (male and female) and not only was remembering to take them 3x per day too much hassle, they are so overpriced.
I took what the WHO said is required for supplements and looked at Pregnacare and Zita West vits and came to the conclusion that as long as you're consistent with a Pregnacare and eat plenty of good quality oils and antioxidants (olive/flax oil and blueberries etc.) then you'll be doing just fine.

However, I think Zita's approach to treatment is ace and would recommend acupuncture all the way x

I took Zita West Vitafem prior to conceiving for about 4 weeks to make sure my body had the right nutrients. I also took one dose of clomid. I don't know if both these things helped me with comcieving or if my timings were just right but either way, I managed to conceive after trying for 6 months plus.

I then continued to take these vitamins throughout my pregnancy. I took Vital Essence 1, 2 and 3 with Vital DHA. Yes, you have to take them 3 times a day but I didn't find that a problem, once with breakfast, once with lunch and once with tea. It encouraged me to eat breakfast in fact! Plus I found them easy to digest. Urine is only bright green if you just had the vitamin and had it without food. Needs to be eaten with food.

I'm now 34 weeks and been doing really well throughout my pregnancy. I plan to continue taking the vitamins and have ordered one months supply post pregnancy too. Its difficult to tell how effective any vitamins are and i'll have to wait and see with the health of my baby but I have been fine taking these. I agree they are very expensive though but if they are good for me and baby, I would use them again should I be pregnant again. So I would recommend them if you can afford them.

By the way, I did try other pregnancy vitamins on and off before conceiving as well, I.e. pregnacare and seven seas pregnancy. I didn't take these as religiously as zita west vitamins because I didn't like the tablet form. Zita west vitamins are totally tasteless capsules so I found them easier. Only the DHA capsules can sometimes have a fishy aftertaste.

Starfish75 I saw your message and that you were taking Zita West vitamns. Can you please tell if they were helpful now when you delivered a baby?
