Afternoon Ladies!

I have been sent a letter from my hospital saying that I need to ring them on the first day of my next period so they can book me in for this scan.

It says in the letter that the scan will be carried out between days 7-14 of my cycle, and that I must abstain from intercourse until after having the procedure done.

My question is, as I can't SWI potentially day 14, should I still take my Clomid this month, or hold off and carry on next month?

I don't want to 'waste' a month of the Clomid, iyswim?

What do you think?

I'd phone the consultant, tbh!

I already have tried that! I rang the department and they said it depends when you expect to ovulate, as in, if they do the test on day 7, and you don't OV until day 14, then it would not be 'wasting' it, but if you have to wait until day 14, then it may well be a waste.

I have PCOS (hence the Clomid) so don't really know when I'm OV'ing (am temp taking and charting to get a better idea, but only started that this cycle).

I cannot speak directly to the consultant via telephone either, I can only speak to one of the nursing aides, so I'm not really sure what to do.

Probably what seems the thing to do is wait until I know which day they are doing the scan on, and decide from there.

Anyone have any experience of this?

Ah, I see! Yes I think waiting to see what date your scan is on is a sensible idea :)

I think this will sort itself out once your period comes because of the order in which things happen. You call on CD1 to book your scan. So you know whether it will be nearer day 7 or day 14. You can then decide whether or not to start taking Clomid the next day based on that (assuming you start on day 2). Good luck.

popcorn, I think I'm over thinking everything in my Blush desperation.

Hopefully I can get the scan done at 7 days then I can just continue with the Clomid but knowing the luck I've been having TTC, I doubt that'll be the case!
