OPK help please!

sorry to sound like an eejit but I'm having trouble understanding the little beggars and could do with some help

I couldn't get hold of any till this morning so just took one and it's a fairly strong negative, I mean a strong line but still not as dark as the control line.

Does this mean that ovulation is nearer than say if it were completely blank? Or is that just a sort of baseline strength of the line that I'd have any other time than during the surge?

Also could it be that ovulation already happened?

I normally track my cm but haven't had any at all so far this month which is weird, normally I get several days of it before ov. so I don't know where it's gorn

We are day 12 here, LP 13-14 I think and cycles are 26 or 27 for the last few months. LMP 22nd Feb.

It could still happen couldn't it, I mean, if it's a neg today, day 15 might be a goer?

I have found that I fade in and fade out as it were. So you nearly positive might be a sign that it is about to happen or has just happened.
Either way get SWIing. My positive OPK happened 2 days before my temps showed ovulation. And the positive was only for one wee that day. I tested every wee I had!

I guess ideally you would need to have a non OV test to compare it with as some women, especially those with PCOS, tend to have a line all month.

We did it yesterday and a few days before, might have been the right time, maybe not! We're not desperately trying to conceive but we're not trying NOT to iykwim, just seeing what happens.

I think I'll have another go tomorrow lunchtime, it says on the leaflet that early mornings aren't much good though...so maybe I'll do another one tonight as well

As far as I know your first wee of the day is no good because it happens overnight and the hormone hasn't had enough time to build up in your urine.

However I find that I only ever get a positive by testing my second wee of the day.

Aha. Yes it said something about the surge only happening early in the morning or something, so won't show up in urine till late morning or early afternoon. How interesting!

well, either I've missed it or it's a bit late I guess!

They're 20 miu apparently if that makes any odds, I think that's the highest sensitivity no? Only cheapies but still I thought that would mean they would detect it further ahead, maybe...or maybe not.

Right well forgive me, but I just took another and there's hardly a line at all.

Is it normal for them to get darker and lighter and so on, or does this mean I've missed it?

Also I'm getting sore boobs since a day or two ago, and normally don't till after ov. (I don't think I do, anyway) Oh dear.
