Is this a positive?

Hi, (I've also posted this on pregnancy :))

I'm on the pill and my 'period' was weird this month, it was a few days later than normal and only lasted for one day, it's also not as heavy, I have only got a small amount of light blood when I wipe (sorry if TMI!)

I sent my DP out for a pregnancy test this afternoon and he came back with a clear blue one (but not the digital that I'd asked for), I've done the test and in the result window I have a very dark line going across the window and a very, very faint line coming down, it's so faint that you can barely see it - do you think it is a positive result or could this be an evoporation line?

I'm going to do another test tomorrow because all the shops are now shut, but I'm supposed to start the pill again tomorrow, should I still take the pill incase I'm not pregnant or would this affect the baby if there is one?

I'm just so confused, I've been on the pill for 10 years and nothing like this has ever happened to me sad

I'd appreciate any advice x

When I was in very early pregnancy was only 3 weeks pregnant the line in the test window was very faint you could see it but was very faint compared to the line in the control window.. If I was you I'd do the clear blue digital test tomorrow before you do your first wee of the day if that's possible as that's when they recommend you to take a test in early weeks of pregnancy.. Also would avoid taking your pill till after u have done the test..
Hope that helps x

I wouldn't take the pill again until you know for sure.

I remember phoning the helpline number on the box to ask if even a very faint line was a positive and they said yes. Turned out it was. As they say, 'there's no such thing as a little bit pregnant' and coupled with your odd period I have to say its prob a yes.

Hope that whichever way it goes that its good news, although I sense from the tone of your post, possibly not!

Probably a 'yes'. The line on the one I did with my DS was as thin as the end if the tinyest needle. Negative results can be wrong but positive ones can't unless you've just had a MC.

That should say 'of the tinyest' not 'if'

Thanks for all your help :)

It's not that it will be terrible news, it's just a shock I think! I've been taking the pill for so long and I have never missed one or even taken one late, I guess I probably thought I was immune to this sort of thing! :D I think it's because I have never had my life take a turn that I haven't planned (don't mean to sound arrogant there!) and it looks like something unplanned is happening without my approval :)
