ICSI: Positive test 6 days after embryo transfer...could this be correct?

Had an embryo transfer after ICSI 6 days ago. I have now had a positive pregnancy test.

But I know that HcG hangs around in your system from the Ovitrelle injection for a while....but that has been 9 days now.

Is it possible at all that the positive test is correct? Don't be afraid to rain on my parade, I need a dose of realism. :)

hiya, i was advised by my clinic that the HCG injection lasts around 10-12 days in your system, but that everyone metabolises the drug differently so for some it would be a shorter amount of time it would hang around in your system. I think the only thing you can do is keep you fingers crossed and maybe wait 2 or 3 days (if you can wait that long) and test again.

How sensitive was the test you did today ?

Best of luck

Don't most IVF clinics recommend testing 16 days after EC to make sure that the HCG is out of your system? So 9 days after does seem a bit early. But I hope this is a BFP for you and not just the Ovitrille.

helenlouisey, yeah, I was praying I would be one of the ones where it hangs around for a short time! I am tall and thin, does that help?:D I did a 10ml test (sorry, that's not the right abbreviation but you know what I mean....the most sensitive strips. Did a few actually, all the same, and a digital one confirmed it).

eurochick, yeah, they told me to wait until next Thursday. So one more week...but then online I read that I could test on Sat. with some accuracy...Google, good eh? :D

Ack, the 2WW! I hate it. :( Thanks for the good vibes. :)
