Welcome aboard ladies.
Please be seated, you may undo your seatbelts as soon as you see the SWI sign light up.

I'll be coming round with cake, biscuits and wine.

Come on girls, we can do it this month.

Heads held high and legs akimbo, off we go.

roxy31 · 15/03/2012 23:09

My af arrived :( so can I get on the connecting flight please?

Congrats to all so far with bfps. I know it's selfish but I just keep thinking when will it be my turn! This will be cycle 8 ttc #1 anyl tips appreciated x

TuesdayNightClub · 15/03/2012 23:33

Aw roxy that sucks. Christmas baby for you perhaps!

Pipbin · 15/03/2012 23:51

It's not selfish Roxy. I'm on cycle 9 and I have to say that each BFP does make me jealous.

Confused by fertility friend which seems to think that I ov'd before my OPK.

MummyNickleby · 16/03/2012 01:06

Roxy for DS I used ovulation sticks, nothing else. Cheap Superdrug own brand ones... Turned out we were dtd too early. Once I saw the blue line if ovulation we dtd and 9 months later I had DS. Really was that easy Envy
But I had years of pain & surgery before that due to endometriosis so I believe Fate / God / my Nana were rooting for me on 12th Feb 2008 at about 9pm Blush

Like the theory that boobs have already been stretched. Nipples hurt tonight, AF showed on Monday but hasn't taken hold, she was actually due yesterday (so was 2 days early), I've had no real discomfort... 4 weeks ago tomorrow I was soooo heavy & in pain that the pharmacist nearly rang an ambulance when I staggered in for pain relief.... If no advancement on AF symptoms I might poas on Sunday (just to be sure).
Maybe it's early menopause Blush

Chunkychicken · 16/03/2012 06:38

Roxy sorry AF got you & nobody would judge you for feeling like that as its totally natural.

I can't provide any real tips - I have found it embarrassingly easy to get my BFPs, just need to have this 1 stick!!! I do know that in cycle 1 of TTC we didn't DTD at the right time (which is cd14 for me - DD DTD cd14, last time DTD cd13&14, BFP, this time DTD cd14&15, BFP) as I had cystitis; think we DTD cd12 which should be close enough for the sperm to survive but wasn't, clearly, so its possible you're missing your window... I used OPKs this month, got a really obvious positive, DTD (cd15), so it might work for you too. Fingers crossed for next month.

Pipbin again, totally understandable if you feel jealous. It's such an emotional thing and when it doesn't happen 'for no good reason', it is very frustrating. Fingers crossed this is your month!

MummyNic does seem odd; POAS anyway, just for fun. Join in the Sat POAS-fest Wink

PandaWatch · 16/03/2012 08:09

Morning ladies!

I caved and just POAS and, unsurprisingly, got a BFN. But I had resigned myself to that anyway and have now decided that next month will be our month because (1) it will be cycle 4 and 4 has always been my lucky number (2) the conception will be on a lovely holiday and (3) it will result in a Christmas baby and I love Christmas!! Grin. So I'm going to hop on another flight but will be checking in tomorrow to see all the fabulous BFPs that are going be announced!

PickledHegg · 16/03/2012 08:11

Sorry about AF Roxy...everyone feels jealous when someone gets a BFP, two of my RL friends have recently announced their pregnancys via text, I couldn't even reply for an hour I was soooo jealous, but happy for them both too.

So I'm CD26, 13dpo, AF due Sunday, however last month she was 3 days late, so could turn up anytime until Wednesday (also if she doesn't turn up at all and I am ( whispers ) pregnant, then I may not get BFP until Wednesday.

So I'm still going to POAS with the gang tomorrow morning, but I'm not holding my breath, don't feel pregnant at all. Any cramps and twinges I had have disappeared and I can't say I've felt dizzy or sick :( so coupled with the fact that I don't think we DTD enough around ov (I ov a day earlier than I expected) I'm pretty sure this isn't my month.

PickledHegg · 16/03/2012 08:12

Panda this month is most definately going to be your month :) I'll prob be joining you for a christmas baby as I love christmas too xx

Crazytictac · 16/03/2012 08:13

Sorry roxy :(. Totally understandable to feel jealous, who wouldn't.

I'd second what the others have said about opk sticks, caught very quickly with my DS using them although taking longer this time! One of my friends took 18 months TTC and there was nothing wrong, just pure luck (or maybe thats not the right word). However, she says it was worth the wait for her DD and then went on to have another DD in no time at all. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you and all the other ladies here very soon.

PrimalChic · 16/03/2012 08:16

pipbin my chart looks pretty similar. Some sites say you ov on the drop in temp, others on the next day and then others have a line in between! Looks like you ov between day 19 and 20, with the spike at day 18 thrown in to confuse things. Seems to fit with your opk and cm notes. I have a big spike that doesn't fit in with the rest of my chart on day 10, if I take it out, my chart makes sense.

Crazytictac · 16/03/2012 08:20

Aw sorry panda but like your thinking for next month. It sounds very positive already for a Christmas baby for you already. You never know though until AF shows....

I'm not feeling fertilised either, no symptoms (feeling slightly achey but this only seems to happen when i think about it!) and I've had a few pimples which I only get shortly before AF is due. So hard not to try and get your hopes up though.

TuesdayNightClub · 16/03/2012 09:18

Hi ladies,

After a bit of thought, I've kind of decided that if it doesn't work this month I'm going to take a break from TTC. I'm only employed until October so I don't want to be 6 months pg and unemployed. I also think I'll struggle to get back to the workplace without longer experience in my job. I have been panicking at the thought of 'my youth being behind me' but I think this is tied up with a feeling of losing what I have in terms of independence, social life, spending money etc with having a baby and not having a career to go back to.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts you might have... Anyone gone thru similar?

MrsTwinks · 16/03/2012 11:07

AF is due tomorrow but I'm working versus day off today so I cracked. BFN :(

But... technically still early and I have boobs+, sickness, a few very TMI things, and oh my god so hormonal! I don't usually have PMT at all (only when I've come off the pill, which was months ago now) so its all very unusual. So veteran ladies, if AF doesn't arrive tomorrow when would you test? or maybe try a different test as I have been using ebay specials. mmm...

LimeLeafLizard · 16/03/2012 12:52

Oh bollocks I just typed a long post and then managed to loose it.

Roxy, sorry to hear about AF. I think the way you feel is very normal and understandable. I wonder if you have read the book 'Taking Charge of your Fertility'. I only recently got it and it is really interesting. I am now doing the fertility charting which will hopefully help with TTC this time.

Looking forward to having you and Panda and everyone else on the Christmas baby Sleigh.

Tuesday I think your employment concerns are quite valid and worth considering at least. I found the loss of my career and independance quite difficult for a while after I had DC and so it is something to be aware of for sure. I wouldn't change it though! And of course many amazing people do manage to have great careers all through raising a family.

Have you checked out what your maternity allowance situation would be if you did fall pregnant whilst newly unemployed? Look here... might be useful?

LimeLeafLizard · 16/03/2012 12:58

MrsT maybe you should wait a couple of days to test again if AF doesn't arrive? I would be tempted to join everyone testing tomorrow but realisitically it would probably be better to wait a bit longer.

Fingers crossed for you and everyone

Sticklebricksuk · 16/03/2012 15:00

I'm also tempted to join those testing tomorrow but given that I'll only be 11 days past (assumed) ovulation then I'm going to try my bestest to wait another week. I say assumed ovulation becuase I am not temping and was using ebay cheapie ov sticks, and got 2 faint lines on 2 consecutive days, and absolutely no hint of a line all the other days. I know that this is not a positive, but I was testing once a day at about 6pm, so I think from what I've read that I may have missed the strong surge that would give a good line. That's my theory anyway, will probably start being a bit more proactive from next month with temping and the like if we're not lucky this month.

AF due Wednesday. Had some cramping at around 7dp(a)o and am weirdly hopeful this month, can't put my finger on why?! I still maintain that positive thinking can't hurt though!
Really good luck to all those testing!

MummyNickleby · 16/03/2012 16:33

AF seems a bit more significant this afternoon Sad
Not to be this month I think.
Never mind, 5 more attempts for me and then I'll be giving up and booking a flight to Disney instead Wink

combatqueen · 16/03/2012 17:29

I'm off this flight and straight on the sleigh, AF had come to bite me Angry.

congratulations to all the BFPs and good luck to everyone still on the 2ww.

I will be checking in to see how all you ladies who have plans to POAS get on.

LimeLeafLizard · 16/03/2012 20:24

Sorry to hear that, Combat.

We will have fun on the sleigh though.

Sorry pipbin, really not sure what to make of your chart, hopefully some wise charters will be along to help you soon.

Just been to meet a good friends 8 day old baby girl and feeling very broody. I'm happy for her but a tiny bit jealous too. On the way home dh announces that he thinks we should have a month off from ttc because he doesn't want a Christmas baby, also tells me a summer (July/ aug) baby is a big no no too. Feeling angry with him right now, I don't want to miss an opportunity even if it would mean a Christmas baby, and I know for sure that if we haven't conceived by the time it would be a summer baby then there is no way I will want to take a few months off.

Chunkychicken · 16/03/2012 23:24

Sorry AF arrived combatqueen. And I would be annoyed if my DH said the same - tell him just because a baby is conceived at 1 time doesn't necessarily mean they'll be born at their due date. Friends have had baby at 24+5 wks & ended up with a Jan baby rather than May, 32 wks ish & had Aug rather than Oct birthdays or April rather than May, & another friend has had both of her 2 babies due in Jan arrive in Feb... You could plan a 'convenient' due date & it still not work out, particularly like above with the Aug born premature baby. Babies come when they're ready!!!

Chunkychicken · 17/03/2012 07:01

It's def a BFP for me!!! What a surprise... Using 99p store 3 in a pack cheap dip sticks & the test line came up in about 20s & is darker than the control line. I'm taking that as a good thing. :)

Really hoping there's a few more lucky ladies today Grin
