... and pretty much totally missed. What an idiot. I was half asleep and clearly I don't wee in the direction that I think I do.

I think I definitely caught the end of the stick as it was a bit wet, but it wasn't enough to soak through to the bit with the line.

Can I try to use the test again? It was a first response. I only have one and I was so excited about testing today!

Sob.

I wouldn't reuse. Next time catch your wee in a plastic receptive of some kind and dip.

PopcornMouse · 15/02/2012 10:17

Lol!!! Worth a go, if it didn't soak all the way up? Not sure I'd save it that long though, as it might start to whiff ;)

minceorotherwise · 15/02/2012 10:19

Give it a go, what harm can it do? And let us know ! Though whatever the outcome you will probably be hot footing to the shops to double check!

cordiality · 15/02/2012 10:23

Pee in a cup! Of course! Will def do that next time.

Am now drinking water to try to need to wee again ASAP so it doesn't get gross, and maybe the test wont even realise it's two different wees? (i know that sounds very stupit.) Anyway, that prob means my wee will be diluted and it won't work as well.

AF isn't even due until the 18th. Maybe I should just wait, this is clearly not my day!!!

Drinking loads to manufacture more wee will not becessarly work as it may be too dilute. I would wait at least six hours. And use another test. I know exactly how frustrating that is believe me.

cordiality · 15/02/2012 10:36

Oh I know you're right Chub. I'll get another test today and do it in the morning. Why oh why did I waste a test last month when I knew I wasnt pg and got my af about 10 minutes later?!

LOL, I always have to wee in a container then dip the stick in it, I can never "hit" the stick with my wee if I do it the other way.

cordiality · 15/02/2012 17:16

Ok, I've bought a new test, will do it in the morning, by dipping it in a cup.

Now I just have to try not to miss the cup when I pee...

Have you got an old Tupperware or clean ice cream tub you could use? Wedge it in the pan.

cordiality · 15/02/2012 17:35

Or maybe I could just put the plug in the bath and wee in there?!?? I have no idea how I expect to be able to raise two children if I can't even do this simple task...

Ramekins are the ultimate pee receptacle...nice and wide and you can eat some Gü to get one :) good luck for tomorrow.

FrozenNorthPole · 15/02/2012 20:38

If the control line isn't visible i.e. only the end of the stick got wet then I would completely happily use the test again as the dye hasn't moved far enough through the stick for it to count as used. Of course, if a line appeared I would then go and dip some more sticks just to be sure ...

Personally I don't like the hand-splash factor of ramekins (suppose it depends on pee pressure Blush) so go for an old mug that isn't used any more. Wide and tall enough to prop the test against its side when waiting the requisite 20 seconds.

cordiality · 16/02/2012 08:59

I love mumsnet, thanks for all the advice, my DH thinks we're all ridiculous.

Peed in an old mug this morning, only a small amount of hand splash and there are definitely two lines on the test! Thrilled.

This explains the scattiness as well, hope it doesn't get too much worse!

Ooh fab!! Worth the wait then.
NB: don't put the cup back in the cupboard

PickledHegg · 16/02/2012 09:07

Congratulations! Thanks

I find an old mug perfect, no splash factor etc!

Old mug though, I'm not washing it then giving it to my MIL for her tea, honest.
