How to announce pregnancy to dh?

Been trying this month and have already tested twice - one was a faint positive and one was a negative - not sure what's going on but will test again in few days. Anyhow, even though dh knows it's bound to happen soon, I'd still like to surprise him when we finally get a deff. positive - the question is how?

With dd I put the test on his work desk (at home) and waited for him to go and check his e-mails to see it...

This time I want to do something more clever... any ideas?

Not sure if this is a good idea or not, draw a line on your stomach with a pen thats easy to get off pointing to the spot

Can you save it until Valentines day I wonder, card from the baby too?

MrsWood · 24/01/2006 22:05

oh, yeah, that's a brilliant idea!!!! Especially as AF will be due just before it... excellent - thanks!

do you really think you can hold that kind of news in for 2 weeks? I couldn't .. why don't you show him the stick?

confused .. if you're due now and again in 2 weeks how does that work?

I can't comment cos like Hausfrau, the testing was a joint mission! Couldn't keep that from him for more than a nanaosecond.

Twiglett - am due around 9th Feb - but with my previous pregnancies test worked quite a while before the AF due date, so I thought I might test in few days again - maybe on 30th or so.

I told him yesterday I tested negative - didn't tell him that it may be wrong. I guess because everything so far was so calculated - you know, fertile days, ovulation etc. I'd like to offer some kind of surprise element when we actually find out that I'm pg - I feel if he's there with me, it will be kinda boring for us. As I have incompetent cervix we have to know asap when i do get pg as I then have to go and arrange a cervical stitch with consultant which is put in at 13 weeks... Everything is so unromantic, I'd like one thing to be a surprise

With ds1 I found I was preg just before dh's b'day, waited til b'day night and took him out to a restaurant and gave him a little wrapped box with a baby bootee inside it.

PeachyClair · 25/01/2006 13:42

Well if you want a card made from the baby, let me know- that'd be great fun to do . Or you could make one- rubber duckies and hearts are pennies from cardmakingcrafts.co.uk

I'm sure whatever you do will be great. And if you can't keep it in until then, how about icing it on a cake?

PC did you e-mail me, re Bubble I just wasn't sure as it was unsigned so I sent it back for clarification.

PeachyClair · 25/01/2006 14:12

Yep, I returned it to you sorry

MrsWood · 25/01/2006 14:45

Peachyclair - that sounds good. Will have a think what can go on it. Was gonna get a "Big Sister" top for my dd to wear on the day too I'll see.
