I suppose I'm just after a bit of advice here, not sure if it's the change or what (I'm 40 next year)

We've been TTC #2 now for over 12 months to no avail. Last month we decided to stop trying as I for several reasons and, tbh it's getting far too stressful. I'm very much a 'what will be, will be, kind of person. I'm trying to count my blessings and be thankful for what I've got.

Anyway AF is due anywhere between today and Thursday. But for the last 7 days I've been spotting blood. It's not heavy (not enough to fill a towel) but bright red and it's like the start of AF but doesn't come to anything. It's happened on about 5 of the last 7 days. Could I be pregnant, or is it the start of the change? Confused!!

The obvious first step is do a pregnancy test just to rule in or out....

RE starting the change. first of all check with your mum about when she went through menopause. Have your periods been normal?

I am almost 42 and had DS almost 5 years ago and had MMC in 2010 and after periods being totally haywire had 3 day fsh bloods done and my doc thinks as the level is so high I am post menopausal - def not a good day that one! Chatting with my mum she started her change at 40 - so wish she had mentioned that when I started my breeding programme at 36 :)

Don't think the worst it could simply be an anovulatory cycle which happens. I would seriously consider BBT as a way of getting to know your body. I have been doing it for the past 4 months and it is a fantastic insight into what is going on during your cycle even if it does tell you what you what you don't want to hear:(
