Anyone doing DIUI/IUI? Need some of the process explaining please!!

HI Ladies,

Wondering if anyones done or doing IUI? We've been told by the clinic we're going down this route but looking around I'm a little confused at some of the process and terms!!
Someone save my sanity and answer a couple of questions for me pretty please...
Whats 2 week wait? (I'm guessing this is between IUI and testing bt not sure)
and whats the pregnancy slot when using donor?

As you can tell, I'm confused!!

I've done one round of IUI in the past, I hadn't responded well enough to IVF drugs so cycle was cancelled and converted to IUI.

Yes the 2 WW is time from when you ovulate, and when the IUI is done, and when you can do a pregnancy test.

Sorry not sure what you mean by pregnancy slot when using a donor? Do you mean success rates?

We did 4 x DIUI last year - sadly none of them worked out for us - so I could probably answer any questions you have.

You pay a fee for your pregnancy slot to wherever you get your donor sperm from. They only allow a certain number of families to be created using the same donor - to cut down on the risk of genetic siblings getting together I guess - so they make you pay to be one of these familes. It's a one-off payment, so you wouldn't have to pay again if you use the same donor for a sibling.

Thanks Ladies, As you can tell this is a new ball game to me at the min (I say new but we've been going thru the NHS now for 3 years and only just got to this point!!)
Loads of info out there for IVF or so it seems but not much for IUI.
