When to count day 1 of cycle when using fertility monitor?

On month 13 of ttc and since a mmc in April last year my cycles have taken on a life of their own. I'm now on a 30 day cycle however AF has started arriving in the evening rather then next day. As its full flow (have a few days of spotting before) some people would say to count this as day 1 and others would say count the next day as CD1. Want to get this right now I have the monitor, so what would you ladies say?

I would count the spotting as day 1. I'm not sure if this is right, but it'd be on the safe side.

Good luck. Smile

I'm no expert & don't do any charting or anything but I'm led to believe CD1 is the first day of full flow. If that's closer to midnight than it used to be, I can't imagine that matters, its still the first day of AF...

If you are using the monitor, then if you start your period in the evening I would count the next day as CD1. If it starts before lunchtime, or early in the afternoon, I'd make the monitor start at CD2. Really it doesn't matter that much though.

Thanks ladies. Was expecting AF this evening but just spotting. Hopefully will mean full flow tomorrow

Day one is the first full day of bleeding.
