OK, here's the backstory: I have irregular periods but over the last year they've settled to an average 35ish days. However, my last cycle was 64 days, my longest ever for no apparent reason. So, I am charting and using cheapie OPK sticks this cycle. Currently on CD23, and have tested for the last 5 days. The first test was completely negative, i.e. no line at all, and the last 4 days have been feint, with the last two days the feintest of all.

My questions are; roughly how long would I get feint negatives before I see the surge? Is there a general/average answer to this? And, is it possible to get feint lines after ovulation - might the darker (but not dark) days have been my peak days (I do drink a lot of water!)? Although I've not surged in temperature...? Am getting so antsy that it's not happened yet, as if this is destined to be a 35 day cycle, it's eating into my LP, and am also getting uncomfortable sleeping with a pillow under my bum and am cranky it's looking like am doing it at the wrong time!!

Thanks so much in advance for your advice!

Will be watching with anticipation as i have cheap opks and no clue how to use them!

Why are you sleeping with a pillow under your bum???

The best swimmers make it through in the cervix in a few mins so a lot of people tilt their pelvis up for this time but there is no need to sleep like that all night!

I don't know the answer about the cheapey opks. I use the digital ones that give you a yes or no answer. I have read on here someone say the cheapies never get properly dark though. I'm sure someone else will be along soon with more info.

Thanks guys!

Haha, eurochick, DH is a night owl so it's usually a late night affair and on a weeknight, I end up falling asleep pretty soon afterwards as I have to be up. Then I wake up in the night with the pillow tangled with my legs....guess am just trying anything to improve the chances, and if DH's swimmers take after him, they'll be relying on me to help slide them along!! Lol!
