1 (possibly 2) missed AF, 5 BFNs. Doctors next week - what to expect?

My last period was at the start of December. We haven't actively been trying to conceive but have 'risked it' (although would be happy to be pregnant) a couple of times but Ive now done 5 pregnancy tests (last one yesterday) and all BFN.

My cycle is always between 28-32 days so I have/am heading towards having missed two AFs now. I have booked a doctors appointment for a week on Monday (first I could get with my doctor) but haven't said why (booked online) - will they do a blood test there and then or do I need to tell them in advance that is what I want?

Any help or advice gratefully received as going a bit daft thinking something sinister is going on with my body and imaging all sorts!

We would send first morning urine test to lab first you get a quantitative level of bHCG. then maybe blood test but our lab does not allow you to do blood first without doing urine unless already have BFP and ? viability etc but each lab is different. So I would take urine sample in proper lab pot could also leave message for gp and they could tell you before hand if you need a blood test.

Thanks for replying - I'll give the doctors a call later this week and check about the blood test

Thanks for your help

MarketingMonkey - what was your outcome?

Hey :) I completely missed a period in November and got 3 faint positives with clear blue tests. My doc even thought I was prg and sent me for blood tests. They were neg and my period came on the exact date it was due in December although it lasted 3 weeks ahhh!! Apparently you can just skip a month for no reason although I think my situation sounds like a chem pregnancy or whatever it's called :)
