Hello all waves madly

Well my body decided to be play silly buggers the past couple of months. On my first cycle TTC, no less! AF arrived today, on CD46. HARRUMPH. Har har good joke, ladybits! Angry

But I am very delighted to see her in fact because I means my two months of confusion is over and I can now get cracking on this shiny new cycle!

Who's with me???? This is a glorious Superlux Superbus (the kind you'd see US presidential candidates rolling about in), with all de mod cons (dedicated champers fridge and shiny chrome margarita blender).

Zara1984 - TTC#1, Cycle 2, AF due 24 Feb

Hi ladies congrats to chunky and the others who've tested positive! Testing a week on Tuesday...gah that's a long bloody wait! DC are 2.5 and 5. Puppy is 1. Still broody after that lot...Therefore it's time for another baby!

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 22:06

Hey Belgrano - the age gap between my DD & the bean-on-board should be 2.5yrs. Was it a good gap for you? :)

piggyboo · 12/02/2012 22:36

better i ov'd on CD18 of a usually 28 day cycle and got my BFP 10 days later so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

celeb and chunky i'm completely with you on the monitoring the loo paper thing ATM especially as i have had no symptoms at all the last few days. POAS again this am strong positive so that reassured me a bit. I can't quite bring myself to go over to preggy forum yet, everytime i read the threads over there someone is having spotting or such like and scaring the bejesus out of everyone. I quite like it here, everyone is cautiously optimistic :), i do feel a bit like were hiding at the back of the superbus with expired tickets, keep thinking someone will kick us off soon Blush

Is anyone due to POAS this week? FC for more BFP's

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 23:35

Piggyboo have jumped aboard an antenatal thread & now feel like jumping right back out again!!! Everyone is either panicky, worried, over-eager/excited or ahead of me & going about symptoms I have yet to experience this time round... Feel much more comfy in my plush seat, drinking virgin cosmopolitans & generally waiting for the excitement to kick in!! And don't even get me started on the 'what to eat/drink' debates... Shock

piggyboo · 13/02/2012 00:48

I know what you mean i'm quite comfy here, think it would be impossible to start a laid back thread over there. So I'll take one of those cosmos too please Wine and settle in for a while until the news sinks in and i finally 'feel' preggers.

Chunkychicken · 13/02/2012 07:38

I POAS again - last one I've got & despite it being 1st pee/dunked in a pot for nearly 20s & the test line being super strong, its still only a really really faint line. :( AF is now officially 'late' but only by a day. Am I worrying too much (I mean I've never tested this early before, it might just be me...) or is this 'a sign'? Not feeling a happy bunny at the mo, cos I want the nice clear 'def pg' box to be ticked!!! Blush

Kelbells · 13/02/2012 07:51

Chunky Don't panic! My AF is only 3 days late and today is my first really strong line, Saturday's was still really faint... Smile

Chunkychicken · 13/02/2012 08:20

Thank you Kelbells that's a help!!

Just trying not to convince myself of anything but when your body can be tricked by your mind without you even realising it, it makes you wonder whether you trust your own body/judgement iyswim!!! Of course, as DH just said, if I've managed to convince my body to manufacture a hormone that isn't there unless your pg, then I have a pretty bloody special mind/body!!!

A line is a line... Hmm

Fingers crossed though :)

Kelbells · 13/02/2012 09:29

You have a very wise DH Grin

It is ridiculous though, I probably won't believe I'm really having a baby until I'm laying there covered in sweat holding the tiny little creature in my arms that's just caused a world of pain.... Even then I imagine many hours staring in wonder that it's actually mine!

It's soooo hard when all you have as evidence is a bit of urine soaked coloured paper and a load of symptoms that you've managed to convince yourself that you've had every month since ttc GrinGrinGrin

But... As you say... A line is a line Smile

Sticklebricksuk · 13/02/2012 10:32

Quick update ladies, I'm now 4 days late but yesterday got another BFN. Not entirely sure what is going on. I've been off the pill for 4 cycles and have always had a 26 day cycle - am now on day 30. Could it still be my body settling down? Getting slightly panicky now about problems and the like - has anyone any words of wisdom or reassurance to give me? I've now stopped thinking I may be pg and just worrying about what's wrong with me. Help!!

knickyknocks · 13/02/2012 10:56

Hope I'm not too late to join! AF due 18/2 and going a little crazy symptom spotting. Been trying for a while now for DC2, had a chemical pregnancy and then a m/c last year. Am getting on a bit now, 40 next month, so really need to get a shifty on. Been using ov sticks and have had smiley faces but no luck so far. Am crossing fingers for this will be my month.

Going to try to hold out testing till AF due date. Those pregnancy tests get expensive! Huge congrats to everyone with a BFP

stickebricksuk don't overly worry. I think it can take a while for things to settle down after the pill. The pain with that is it can be a bit trickier to work out ov dates. The only answer is to keep SWI as much as you can. Hope you get that BFP soon (or AF so you can put your mind at ease and start planning for next month).

Pipbin · 13/02/2012 11:07

Stickle It took about 4 cycles for my system to settle down.
First one off the pill was the classic 28 days. Then they were a bit all over the shop until they settled down to 34 days.
This is my first cycle temping and i recommend it.

PrimalChic · 13/02/2012 12:33

Happy Monday everyone. AF due today, got another BFN yesterday but boobs still not sore and only have light cramping. Where is she??! Just want to know either way now so i can start temping for the first time and using preseed too.

Had a dream last night that I had a little boy, it was lovely :) Does anyone else dream about their babies?

TooMuchRumba79 · 13/02/2012 13:15

Hi everyone - hope this is a real positive week for everyone!!!
Primal - had a dream about walking through a jungle with my son (approx 5 years old) and my daughter (about 3). Felt divinely happy waking up in the morning! Longed to hold them again....
Went to see DH's friends this weekend. They're a lovely couple. The first question she asks before even asking how we are is: 'where's your baby??' - hate not having anything smart to say back!!
How are you ladies dealing with the last couple of days before testing / before AF is due???
Did a little fertility self-evaluation on NHS site (feel free to laugh, I'm sad I know) and based on my answers, they suggest I go and see a GP (the deciding factor was fertility issues in family - mum, sister, aunty etc). Not sure how to feel about that. Only cycle 3 trying.
Welcome on board newbies!

MrsTwinks · 13/02/2012 14:08

how am I coping?? urm... didn't know I was mean't to be coping! Off all weekend and now off today, DH is at work, all the housework got done, nothing to do but chill out and notice every weird smell/cramp/wave of nausea/nipple tingle

someone sedate me until next week please??

PrimalChic · 13/02/2012 14:58

Dizzy, back ache and so very tired today. And the thirst! I can't drink enough water today, my mouth is so dry. Either this is a belated hangover, a very nasty AF or maybe a pg... Everything crossed.

MrsT my flat has never been so tidy, anything to keep my mind off symptom spotting! No meetings today so I've spent it mostly googling early signs of pregnancy and water birthing!

Chunkychicken · 13/02/2012 16:48

I'm busily symptom spotting MrsTwinks & PrimalChic & that's after my BFP!!! Don't feel that pregnant, had only a faint BFP this morning & now just waiting for it to go pear-shaped, despite having no real reason for it (no bad pains or blood or anything concerning like that). Obviously I'm just never happy!!! Need to just be patient... Not my strong suit that :o

So my sympathies are with you ladies!!

Hey knickyknocks welcome aboard. Have a cocktail... :) Can I ask a bit of a personal question? What is a chemical pg? Keep seeing it.mentioned, but don't know how that's different to an early mc, iyswim. Ta.

Chunkychicken · 13/02/2012 17:53

Think it has gone pear shaped... :(

Have some light, watery/CM type bleeding (v pink/red mucous, rather than proper AF) but no pain (yet). Not sure I can bear reading all the other posts about early bleeding etc being ok & getting my hopes up because it is v early on & without a sensitive HPT I would prob have assumed it was AF & never known any different. Equally, not sure I can just sit here, assume the worst & wait for the pain/full on bleeding to start!!! :( :( :(

Feel so stupid & helpless :( Will maybe have a Brew & pretend everything is ok!!

Hope it works out for everyone else, FX etc.

knickyknocks · 13/02/2012 18:11

chunky am hoping things aren't over. Keeping my fingers crossed. Just in answer to your question...from what I found out, a chemical pregnancy is an early m/c ie before 6 weeks. I had one much earlier than that. Used one of those first response preg tests about 5 days before AF was due last year and ut came up positive. Then a few days after my AF had been due, I started to bleed. A pregnancy test a couple of days later was negative. I was told this was a chemical pregnancy. A M/C is in medical terms when it happens after 6 weeks.

Bloody rotten if it's either IMO having had both. Keep strong chunky. Thinking of you XX

Keep getting cramps myself. Have almost convinced myself I am pregnant so will be desperately disappointed if I get a BFN. Will test on Saturday.

MrsTwinks · 13/02/2012 18:12

have a cuppa and relax, nowt that can do but help after all.

Chunkychicken · 13/02/2012 18:23

Thanks guys x

PrimalChic · 13/02/2012 18:35

chunky kettle on, feet up. Everything crossed for you. Is OH home to run around after you?

celebmum · 13/02/2012 18:39

Oh chunky! I'm sure it's all fine, lots of ladies experience this and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies.. Put your feet up and DO NOT BE WORRYING.. That's an order!! Smile

Chunkychicken · 13/02/2012 18:40

Pain & more bleeding :(

Guess I'll have to catch the next bus... :(

Fingers crossed I won't see any of you guys because they'll be a flurry of BFPs!! Enjoy the ride x

TuesdayNightClub · 13/02/2012 19:06

Aw chunky that's not good at all. Is there any sliver of hope? Have a rest, relax and maybe it isn't what you think it is

stickle I am on my 5th cycle after coming off the pill and they vary from month to month. Last month I must have ov a week or so late, because AF just randomly turned up a week after she was due - I was (stupidly) convinced I was pg but she was just playing silly buggers. This cycle has been equally as unpredictable, so I can easily imagine it taking a year or to become regular. I read millions of stories about people not getting BFPs but still being pregnant, but I think the stats are something like on the day of AF 80% of women get a BFP and the % goes up each day after that quite significantly.
