Hello all waves madly

Well my body decided to be play silly buggers the past couple of months. On my first cycle TTC, no less! AF arrived today, on CD46. HARRUMPH. Har har good joke, ladybits! Angry

But I am very delighted to see her in fact because I means my two months of confusion is over and I can now get cracking on this shiny new cycle!

Who's with me???? This is a glorious Superlux Superbus (the kind you'd see US presidential candidates rolling about in), with all de mod cons (dedicated champers fridge and shiny chrome margarita blender).

Zara1984 - TTC#1, Cycle 2, AF due 24 Feb

have tried to take a break from mumsnet after AF came but have been drawn back in! congrats to all the new BPF! nice to see. AF left yesterday so I am back in the game so to speak. started to use opk today as last cycle was short (24 days) and when we had ds my edd was put forward a week so thinking maybe I ovulate earlier than I thought. Got a faint line on the opk which was a bit surprised about as surely it's too early to be ovulating as i'm only on cycle day 7. AF properly left 2 days ago with spotting yesterday. anyone else had this on opk? very odd. just in case I think will swi tonight- DH will be pleased lol.

Lyftiduft · 09/02/2012 18:10

well not for me this time. May be a good thing as DH came home and muttered about potential redundancies/uncertainty at work. So we're going to leave it for a bit I think, maybe TTC later in the year, need to know we're ok and can cope with just DS for the time being I think. Wasn't that disappointed either so maybe the timing's not quite right for us. Broody for another small person but we've decided we can wait a bit longer Confused Grin

Good luck to all you lovely ladies, I hope you all go on to get your BFPs and have happy and healthy pregnancies x

TuesdayNightClub · 09/02/2012 18:39

ToomuchRhumba a lot of women at my work go on and on about how I "have plenty of time for all that" and "don't rush into anything" when it comes to having kids. I don't actually talk about having kids, they just seem to want to ply me with their "advice." Well, i'm sorry Ladies of Tuesday's Work, but my hormones, my life plans and my husband have slightly more influence, thanks all the same! Grin I do look and act quite young so I think people forget my real age.

I am on CD 18 and supposed to be ovulating this week at some point, but have had negative OPKs each day, and my temping is all over the place... We are swi but at the back of my mind I feel it is a bit pointless. I really don't feel like I'm ovulating, and I'm not sure when I will.

TuesdayNightClub · 09/02/2012 18:40

Sorry to hear you are getting off the bus Lyfti sounds like the right thing in the situation though.

bettergetamoveon · 09/02/2012 18:51

TuesdayNightClub i am in exactly the same boat. I'm supposed to be ovulating, or according to Fertility Friend, I was meant to ovulate today, but negative OPK's (or faint) every day for the last 4. We've been TWI 3 times in the last 4 days but I'm also wondering if it won't result in a baby. Maybe i ovulated really early instead or still have to or i won't at all...who knows?! Very frustrating Angry

TheDetective · 09/02/2012 19:03

Can I join?!

I'm on cycle 3, ttc number 2 (DP's first). I think AF should be due 1st March, but my last 2 cycles have been 26 days bob on! So maybe 28th Feb?

If we get a BFP this month, i'll be due around my birthday! After this month we have one more try before we take 2 months off because we don't want a baby due around christmas/january for personal reasons! So, it better happen this month! We will be SWI from tomorrow, every day!

I'm on nights, so it will be tricky, but we will just have to!

TuesdayNightClub · 09/02/2012 19:31

Hi bettergetamoveon - I was meant to ov yesterday according to FF, but nope, nothing. In previous months I've been able to feel something going on in there, aches, pains etc. This month I feel as though I've had an epidural! There is NOTHING happening in there!!! We are both probably going to ovulate late and there will be plenty of swimmers in there poised for action!

Welcome TheDetective! Hopefully this is a lucky bus for you!

Chunkychicken · 09/02/2012 19:57

Hi to all the 'newbies'. :)

Lyfti shame about your situation, but there is a lot of job uncertainty around and I wouldn't want the extra stress of TTC & then worrying about money afterwards in that situation either. Good luck & FX it happens at the right time too.

Thanks for the support - still freaking out a bit & waiting for me to 'wake up'... Hopefully it will be a nice dream & not a nightmare. Confused

Keeping thinking positive for everyone this week/weekend!! :o

sunshinejanuary · 09/02/2012 20:05

Well, I broke and tested this morning - BFN :( I am ridiculously sad given this is our first month of trying. I am sure you ladies will understand where as I am sure many IRL would think I was off my rocker! Still, AF not due till tomorrow and then I can get back on the wagon. On the plus side, my 25 month old slept through last night for the FIRST time ever last night! I am sure it won't happen again until she is at least 6 years but it is nice to have hope :D

Primal I am really sorry about your BFN too. You still can hold out hope though and I am totally with you on the cocktail front!

Stickle I am sorry for your BFN too - but Cherry is giving me hope for all of us!

Lyfti I hope all works out for the best in the end and may just see you on the backseat of another bus soon ;)

Hello to Afox and good luck!

Magneto · 09/02/2012 20:45

The 17th February is soooooooooooooo far away.

I've been avoiding this thread because I don't want to think about it.

To those of you who are ttc no2 (or more) do you remember the date your got your bfp with dc1? I do Blush is that really sad? It was the 3rd December 2009.

Magneto · 09/02/2012 20:47

Congrats to all the bfps too and unmumsnet hugs for the bfn.

Chunkychicken · 09/02/2012 21:25

Hi magneto - I remember that BFP too - 21/08/09, had just got home from our honeymoon & despite being 99% certain, couldn't wait to do the test, so did it in the public loo as our hotel wasn't ready for us yet. Helped to know though, as we had a wedding the next day. DH got horrifically drunk but I still DTD with him anyway, despite being massively annoyed, because full on horniness was one of my early symptoms!!!

Sorry for all the BFNs guys - fingers crossed they become BFPs before long.

TooMuchRumba79 · 09/02/2012 21:39

Hey Afox and TheDetective - welcome on board!
Sorry about BFNs Stickle and Primal - as Cherry said, there's still time for those to turn into positives..!! All fingers and toes crossed for you both!
Best of luck Lyfti with everything! Hope all goes well with your DH's job etc.
So sorry about your BFN Sunshine - completely understand you're feeling down about it, even if it is your cycle 1 of trying. I was bitterly disappointed after failed cycle 2. We too have been talking about taking a little break after this cycle, if not lucky - TheDetective, sure we weren't separated at birth?? (if we got pg from this cycle i'd be due close to my bday too!)
But let's see how this one goes and if I'm still keen to take a break...(lucky DH's never had it so good!! Grin)
Tuesday - yeah I get that too with some ladies, they straight up tell me not to do it!! Crazy!! Then others keep prodding and poking me with their comments, almost to see if they can get a reaction out of me (meanies!!). Someone even said 'why aren't you having any babies, are you trying not to ruin your figure??' (I think she was being sarcy, I do not have a smokin' body or anything...)Hmm
Lots of positive vibes to everyone, let's hang in there sistas, patience and peace of mind before next week's POAS!!! Grin

FrenchLimeBlossom · 09/02/2012 22:07

Sorry for all the BFNs, what a pity. Next month will be the one maybe.

But well done to all the BFPs, lovely news. Keeps the rest of us going to think it may be our turn to join you next!

So my least favourite bit of the cycle now, 2ww. Hate the waiting but fingers and toes crossed! Good luck to everyone

celebmum · 10/02/2012 08:43

Hi magneto yep I remember.. It was 18/08/09 ( scarily close chunky!!?) as it was the night before my hen do! I woke up that day and just had this overwhelming feeling I was pregnant! We tested and BFP! I didn't tell a sole on my hen do, faked drinking all day/night and no one guessed!! We got married 1month later and tol everyone.. Smile

Chunkychicken · 10/02/2012 10:07

I can't believe that celebmum - scary. Same thing happened this time too huh??!! Our lives are running parallel!! :o

Got a lesson obs now. Not looking forward to it :(

Pipbin · 10/02/2012 17:11

Ladies, I just thought I would come and share this:
This month I have been taking extra vitamin B and manuka honey.
Now it might just be coincidence but I have had the 'best' EWCM I have ever had and a really strong positive on an OPK stick.

Normally I hardly get anything on an OPK, and when I do get a positive it's well into the ten minute wait. This time the line was there before the test line!

TMI ALERT Seriously, I just went to the loo and the EWCM on the paper was so thick that as I pulled it to check it was stretching it lifted the paper up. Over the last four days I reckon there has been about 3 tablespoons of the stuff.

Chunky How was the lesson obs?

PrimalChic · 10/02/2012 17:24

I'm thinking that my cycle has been thrown off this month, I've had EWCM for the past few days even though I thought I ovulated over a week ago. DH is away (again) until Tuesday when I think AF is due so even if I am ovulating late, there'll be no SWI to try to catch it. Grrr this is the first time in nearly 2 years when my cycle has been more than a couple of days out and it would be while he is away!

And my flat is covered in brick dust, I have no kitchen, a big hole in the wall, I'm on my own at the weekend and it's cold. :( big bar of chocolate and some kettle chips for dinner I think. Ok, self pitying rant over.

So who's testing tomorrow? I'm going to per-cocktail. If its a BFN, that martini is mine.

Kelbells · 10/02/2012 18:25

Hello ladies,

I thought I'd just pop in with an update!

I had the results of my HCG test this afternoon and it has more than doubled in the last few days and my progesterone levels are very high... I'm still spotting but feel much happier! Another scan booked in 2 weeks... Fingers crossed but I'm much more hopeful!

Good luck with all the BFPs that will be had this weekend!! Grin

TuesdayNightClub · 10/02/2012 19:01

That's great news Kelsbels! Perhaps it is just the little egg burrowing in deep that is causing the spotting?

Jealous of the ECWM! Perhaps I'm just not good at recognising it, but mine never ever fits that description. I've also only ever had one positive OPK, in five cycles...

Bah humbug, all I EVER do is moan on this thread!

Chunkychicken · 10/02/2012 20:17

That seems like good news Pipbin & thanks for asking, think I got mostly goods/2 but may only get a satisfactory/3 overall because of behaviour from a minority :( However, generally not too bad so :) overall!!!

Having terrible indigestion after my takeaway curry tonight which wasn't DH issue with DD so very new & interesting. Shall be carrying emergency tums from now on!!

Good news Kelbells :)

Good luck PrimalChic and have a drink or 3 for me, if no BFP.

Never mind Tuesday - it'll all work out in the end, I'm sure. We don't mind the moaning honest Wink

Pipbin · 10/02/2012 21:57

Chunky I hate how a couple of children being dicks badly behaved can cause your grading to go down. Was it OFSTED or just the Head, and what kind of day is the last day of term to be doing an obs anyways.

Chunkychicken · 10/02/2012 22:24

It was just a quality assurance/CPD thing with the head of faculty/member of SLT who used to be our HOD so she's got to go with a consistent grading but might be a bit sympathetic iykwim pipbin but yes, it sucks. It was prob the only time as I only work 3 days but equally it was maybe 4 or 5 kids out of 33 and they are really bright/top set, so it was constant chatting rather than proper misbehavior. But they have to judge for 'learning' & those few prob didn't learn as much as others, despite my actions!!! Oh well, f* it, over with for a while...

Pipbin · 10/02/2012 22:30

I hate the was it is judged now. I teach reception and they ask the children ''what have you learned this lesson" afterwards. Now bear in mind that some of these children are not sure of their own names how can I be judged on what they have learned in the space of twenty minutes?

Zara1984 · 11/02/2012 08:33

One week today I can POAS.... Halfway through the dreadful 2ww.

Boobs a wee but sore but that could be AF symptom/end-of-week tiredness.

Just had a thought after someone at work was rabbiting on about how caffeine is soooooooo bad for you if you're trying to conceive (actually have no idea why she started talking about)? Errrr there's no conclusive studies, right? Cos I'm just carrying on as normal with my pre-conception/normal healthy habits... Which includes 1-3 cups of coffee a day (including Nespresso lattes from my machine, and sometimes single or double espressos after dinner at a restaurant) I try to get 7.5+ hours of sleep a night but I like my coffee... It makes me feel more civilised. Grin I'm taking the same approach to wine and unpasturised cheese (until BFP). My theory is, what do Italian and French women do?? Or have I murdered all my eggs with that poison marketed by George Clooney....
