DH and I have a healthy 4 yr old DD. We started ttc again last yr and have since sadly had 2 MC both at about 6 weeks. The most recent one only occurring 3 weeks ago.

The GP said he is pretty sure it is just down to bad luck but is willing to run blood tests after first AF.

He also advised me to take asprin when ttc and during PG! I have never heard this. I always thought asprin was bad for you in PG and to take it long term.

Has anyone heard this? Or had a success story out of asprin.

Hi, it is fairly common for people with recurrent miscarriages and high risk pregnancies to be on baby aspirin while ttc and pg. It is important that you make sure its the right dose though, you need 75mg not the 300mg pain dose. Its the aspirin that people take to prevent heart attacks too. However, if your GP feels you need this then it might be worth asking for a referral to a recurrent miscarriage clinic for more support.
I lost my 1st baby at 24 weeks due to severe early onset pre eclampsia and was advised (by my consultant) to take baby aspirin from 8 weeks in a subsequent pregnancy, I did this but suffered a mmc at 9 weeks (baby was at the 6 week stage) since then he advised me to take it while ttc and I have been on it ever since. Though I am not home and dry yet, I am now 32 weeks pregnant with another little boy so I have nothing but praise for baby aspirin. I do think you need more specialist input then your GP though as the advice for you may be different as everyone's circumstances are. Hope this helps

Oh and I am very sorry to hear of your losses and just to add, I would check when it is safe to take aspirin after a miscarriage, definately wouldnt take it if you are still bleeding.

There are a few of us on here taking low dose aspirin on the advice of our consultants, and others who have been told not to take it until they get a BFP (and of course some who are not taking it at all). My consultant has advised me to take it while ttc so I am doing so for the time being.

Hi all, have just bought the 75mg dose- thought it couldn't hurt to add it in to the rest of the bumph I'm on! Should I take it once a day or twice a day?Smile
