Checking your Cervix?!

Thanks to eurochick, I was pointed to a very helpful fertility monitoring site.

The site is great, and has been dead healpful, but it suggests checking your cervix every few days, it explains it as "If you are ov'ing it (cervix) will be harder to find and will feel soft, like a set of lips, if your not in the ov phase, it should feel like the tip of a nose"

Anyhoo, acrobatically challenginging myself this morning I atttempted to locate said cervix, could I find it, could I fook, I don't know if you have to be really gymnastic or owt, but I can get nowhere near the top end of my fanjo! Even trying really hard!!!!

Has anyone else tryed (or failed) this cervix checking malarkey?

Is it even important to do it?

When I was ttc'ing dd1 I used to check my cervix, as it was very low and well could locate really easy. Now that I have had a baby I cant feel it at all.

I wouldnt say checking my cervix helped me at all, CM checks have been more useful to me and also just listening to my body, when you feel really sexy can mean you are fertile. So I take ov tests, check cm and go by my mood.

I agree with fanjo, CM is far more useful. And I ignore that section of FF eww eww eww :o

I can find mine easily, it's quite low lying. It's a pain really, it really messes with my moon cup! Anyway, I've toyed with the checking my cervix thing, but it never feels any different to me! I too have better results with CM.

Ok, that's good to hear it's not that helpful a thing to do!

I tried, I failed, I got a bit freaked out by the pictures in Taking Charge of Your Fertility - they look so angry!

CM and OV sticks for me!

I also tried and failed. I think I managed to locate it but assessing whether it was hard/soft/high/low was beyond my skills so I just chart CM and my temps.
