Hi...my cycle is around 36 days & I have been using an online app, diary & obvious OV pains to determind when in the month is the best time to dtd. However...I haven't checked diary & my online app had predicted OV for a 28 day cycle! I had OV pains Monday-Friday last week & dtd Thursday. If my cycle is 36 days & the pains were OV pains...does Thursday count this month? Worried I have missed our chanc this month thanks to me relying on an app to do my thinking for me!

You've not said where Thurs falls in your cycle, but generally speaking these apps are pretty useless - they calculate your ovulation based on an average 14 day LP whereas you can actually have a LP between 10-16 days. Have you considered using OPKs or basal temperatures?

Day 15...sorry. I'm definitely considering using the sticks as I can't just rely on OV pains.

A 21 day luteal phase (the bit between ov and AF arriving) would be unusually long. A normal LP is between 10 and 16 days. So it is quite possible that you haven't ovulated yet. I get two or three periods of ov pains before I actually ovulate.

I agree with euro - now might be a good time to start using OPKs :)

Would eBay/amazon sticks be good?
