hi, i just wonder'd if any other ladies have try'd to concive after taking the mini pill cerazette ?

call me greedy but im a happy married mummy to 6 and i would love a 7th !
i breast feed all my children for 6 months and after my last DD when i stopped feeding her i went on the combined pill but for some reason ( age ??) it didnt agree with me any more , so i went on the mini pill cerazette for the last 6 months with NO MP at all !
iv read some awfull things about women trying to concive for years after taking this mini pill , and just wonder'd if any body has any positve stories to tell?

You should probably try the pregnancy forum for success stories? But I was on cerazette for 6 years and my periods came back within 6 weeks of coming off it, and as far as I can tell I'm ovulating regularly and normally.

So it's not all doom and gloom, and I have a sneaking suspicion that most of the horror stories are caused by the pill masking PCOS symptoms - which is clearly not the case with you, having had 6 already. At either rate, 6 months is no time at all :)

I've just stopped taking it, although I only took it for 3.5 months, ttc dc2 now so watch this space.

I google'd it too and very quickly decided that google was not my friend.

Good luck gemcgem :)

Hi, I've been looking for information about Cerazette on google and can honestly say i'm now terrified!! I was on cerazette for 4 years and after talking with my partner have decided to stop to try and concieve. I stopped taking it at the begining of December had my first period on the 29th lasting until the 5th of Jan. Does this mean that I should ovulate this month?

We would really love to have a baby and since I have stopped taking cerazette its the oly think I can think about! I'm now really worried after all of the horror stories i have read! :(

PopcornMouse · 12/01/2012 09:50

Hi Sophie - yes, you'll ovulate this month, but your cycles might be a bit longer/irregular for a month or two before they settle into a rhythm - so you might not ovulate bang on CD14, I mean. But you will ovulate :)

gemcgem · 12/01/2012 14:51

i had my 1st MP on the 10th of jan , so fingures crossed i'll find my rhythm soon . if id know all this info about cerazette i dont think id have ever taken it :( fingures crossed we all get some good news soon .

I came off Cerazette at end of June 2011 after 2 years on it. Had a normal period 4 weeks later. Nearly 17 weeks pg now.

Oh, and I'm 35 so no spring chicken in fertility terms!

Sophie4 · 12/01/2012 15:35

Great! I have bought some ovulation tests was thinking about doing one tomorrow and see how that goes. Has anybody ever used them before?

PopcornMouse · 12/01/2012 15:41

Yes, they can be quite fickle though - many of us on the ttc board take them twice a day, as you can easily miss a positive. If you want to see if you're ovulating long-term, I'd suggest trying basal body temping :)

TangleTamer · 12/01/2012 15:55

I too managed to convince myself (thanks to Google) that I would take ages getting pregnant again after stopping Cerazette. In reality took a few weeks to have my first period then conceived the following cycle.

Try not to worry - just think everyone reacts to Cerazette differently. I've heard plenty of stories of people getting pregnant whilst taking it as well!

Good luck all x

I took Cerazette for about a year after the birth of my DS1. We conceived him really quickly but we're now on cycle 6 of TTC with no BFP. I'm not sure if I can blame Cerazette though as my cycles are regular and I seem to ovulate every month (positive OPKs, BBT rises, ovulation cramps etc). If anything, my cycles are shorter than beforehand - now a steady 28 days whereas they used to be about 34 days. Only thing is that the shortening is in the luteal phase so I'm worried that's my problem. Anyway, ovulated again yesterday so will come back to confirm here if this is my BFP month.

Good luck to all and hope you get your BFP quickly. Please update us here if you do and thanks Tangle and AnEcumenical for the positive stories.

How are you getting on gemcgem & everyone else? I've just had my 12 week scan today, stopped taking the pill NYE, got pregnant 1st Feb.

Hope you've all had success too.
