Hi all, hoping for some advice from those more knowledgeable than me! After a year of no periods (post pill + health issues) I finally had one which I think was a proper one over christmas, so assuming I'm going onto normal cycles, last week was prime SWI time. Anyway, I had some spotting over the weekend (so about 16-17 days into the cycle). Could this be ovulation bleeding? although there's been no other signs of ovulation. or is it far more likely that my body is playing up and tricking me?

It's hard to say, as it's not really "mid cycle" or ovulation-time til you have a whole cycle for comparison, iykwim (imho) -- e.g. if your "normal" cycle is 20 or 60 days, for example, you wouldn't ovulate on cd16 so it wouldn't be ovulation making you spot. I'd see what happens in a fortnight, AF-wise, and see a GP if nothing turns up?

I assume from your post you know why you're ovulating erratically, or I'd suggest asking the GP about the possibility of PCOS?

yeah I know, I should face the facts and don't get my hopes up, but its all I've got at the minute to pin my hopes on and I've got (at least) another 2 weeks of hoping to go!

And I had thyroid problems which caused the year of nothing, but that's all finished now so I should be back to normal. currently having tests and awaiting a fertility appointment, but was hoping i might have been one of those people who magically got PG just before going for treatment! fat chance.
