Having a heart attack here :( Why oh why do I read things on the internet!

Right, so, I caught a thread on another site about someone who had been on the injection for a few years after giving birth, came off it to TTC, and was having major problems ovulating. Lots and lots of women responded with pretty much the same.

I can't find any actual factual research on it from established research bodies - just seems to be anecdotal information so far. Most of the women said they haven't had AF in 6, 11 or even longer months.

I came off it because my nurse didn't want me to be on it longer than two years, and I smoked at the time and she wanted me to come off it. TBH, I really can't remember how long it took for AF to come. Maybe a couple of months. I had a 6 month break from any kind of chemical contraception, then went on Cerazette, which was all fine. Sometimes I'd forget to take it, and I've have a "period" straight away. Since coming off completely, my period came within 25 days and so far the cycles (three) have been 25, 30 and 27 days. That seems pretty regular to me.

Has anyone come across this? Does it sound worrying, or just normal body trying to regulate itself type thing?

Hi Betty
Try not to worry too much, I know it is so much easier said than done. I have followed a similar history but it took about 3 months to get my first period after coming off Cezarette.

Your body seems to be settling down to a "regular" pattern and may take up to a year to gets more regular than you are already experiencing. As you say it seems pretty regular as it is.

You could try using OPK sticks to determine when you are ovulating each cycle or tracking your daily temp. I don't do the temps myself but a lot of the ladies on here do. I think if you register on Fertility Friend that will explain how it works and what to do.

Hope this all helps and good luck.
