Hello - thanks for reading my post...
I am 36, DH is 35 and we have a DS born in 1996. In March I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure and my World fell apart - our much longed for 2nd baby (and indeed 3rd and 4th babies) was never going to arrive. DH and I discussed it and decided to try a round of IVF - with an undetected ovarian reserve, a slightly elevated FSH and a lack of regular periods we had a less than 10% chance of success but felt sure we wanted to have a go, to 'shut the door' so to speak. In November, by some miracle, I conceived...Quite naturally. We were overjoyed but unfortunately the bleeding started a week later - it was our 5th pregnancy loss.
It felt like a sign and that the IVF was not going to be able to get me any further than I'd managed to get myself and we, heartbreakingly, have decided not to pursue a cycle of IVF.
We are now (with great trepidation if Im totally honest) looking at egg donation and I would be really really grateful if anyone could share their experiences of receiving donor eggs - especially if, like me, they have a biological child and are terrified they wont love a non-genetic child 'as much'...
Thanks x
