Cough meds to aid conception??!! Really?!

Have seen this mentioned a few times on MN and other sites.

Anyone heard of this? If so, what is the basis behind it?

Active ingredient in cough medicine (guaifenesin) thins mucus in your body. As well as helping with a cough, this has the effect of thinning your cervical mucus and can help the sperm on their journey.

Delightful this ttc lark isn't it?

well isnt that a quinkydink i start ttc at the same time im drinking cough medicine like its vodka water trying to shift this flipping cough that just wont go. Heres hoping i get a bfp and have no cough it would be an amazing start to 201.2
