Agnus castus/vitex (with ovarian cysts) - could it be harmful?

Sure this has been done before but..

DD has just weaned a few months ago, and I'm trying to get my cycles back (I EBF for a year). Since stopping BF I've had clear O pain and then light spotting two weeks after, and then this last month I've had patches of EWCM, but no period yet (thought it was coming last week since I had AF cramping etc but nothing).

I know for a fact that I have a lot of cysts on my ovaries: not PCOS, but very cystic.

Prior to falling pregnant I had quite irregular cycles, but I'd just come off the pill and they seemed to be regulating themselves by the time I got pregnant (more by luck than judgment...).

Does anyone know if taking AC/vitex could help or whether it could actually harm things? I had quite long LPs prior to falling pregnant (15/16 days) so don't think I have a progesterone problem: think it's more that my oestrogen hasn't quite got to the level needed to O regularly yet... I don't want to take it if it's going to mess things up, but also don't want to not take it if I should (and then spend months waiting for its effects to build up again).

Thanks

It did work for me when trying to get my cycle regular while TTC. I do have PCOS though.

Hmmm.

I guess if there's no harm in taking it I may as well-don't mind doing too much: better than doing too little!!

Someone loaned me a really good book about regulating your cycle. Will try and remember what it was called .
