Hi all, after 3 years of ttc and failing the nxt step for us is clomid. We have no obvious problems, had all sorts of tests and all is fine. At nearly 35 i can,t waste anymore time hoping it will happen naturally as we could go on like this forever more.

Just wondered if there are many side effects to this drug and was it successful for any of you???

Hi there,
I am taking 4th cycle of clomid at the minute. Tbh, he first month my symptoms weren't really even noticeable - few hot flushes, but I wouldn't have thought anything of them if I hadn't been looking out for them, iyswim. Woke up in the night a few times.

2nd was much the same, but had mouth ulcers randomly.

3rd - bonjour symptoms! Mood swings, feeeling mildly depressed, really tired, hot flushes, nightmares, etc. Mouth ulcers again. But honestly? Nothing that had a big impact on my day to day life.

So far on this cycle, nada on the symptoms front again.

Probably worth saying that the first and second month, the follicle didn't mature/release, whereas last month it did.

No success stor yet, but fingers crossed!
x

I found myself feeling really depressed for a good part of the clomid cycle- I tend to feel like that before my period - it's my version of PMT I suppose. It wasn't so bad as I realised it was the clomid but I remember doing a lot of crying which is very unusual for me. It wasn't successful for us but I went on to conceive naturally at nearly 39 - so you still have time. Good luck and I hope it works for you.
