ttc a girl?

Dh and I are ttc DC3. I currently have 2 DS's and would love a DD.

I know there's a 50/50 chance either way and of course I'd be happy with another healthy DS, my question is if anyone has used any method to help them conceive a certain sex? Do the calendars etc work? Or is it all a bit of a rip off?

Well I read somewhere that if you are ttc a girl then the woman shouldn't orgasm as it creates a more alkaline environment (?) which is more conducive for male sperm. Dh and I tried this once, I decided it was no fun and subsequently had ds3!

I followed p.hazelmans book, think that's the name. Worked both times

It is dependant on the sperm. The fast swimmers carry male DNA, the slower ones female so you need to have sex a day or so before u ovulate to give the slow swimmers a chance HTH

Yeh HHC, I read that too. To quote Samantha from Sex and the City, 'if I RSVP to a party I always come'

TMI? :)

So you need to know your dates etc then? What if you're irregular?

McQueasy is referring to the Shettles Method. Here you go. Grin

There was a thread yesterday I read that highlighted a much more detailed way of trying to determine sex :) Dont know if it works but am in same boat as you, two boys and would really love a girl.
