IUI at Lister

Finally .... an appointment at the Lister for IUI next week. I wondered if anyone has experience of this treatment at the Lister. It is a first consultation, and then I am really hoping they will do the procedure when I ovulate a few days later, and not make me wait another month. Would be grateful to hear from anyone who has been through this - and for any advice.
Thanks

No experience of IUI there, but just wanted to say hi as you're presumably a local girl, and to wish you luck. xx

They will usually get you fitted in straight away if it is an unmedicated cycle, but I assume that they'll scan you first before deciding.

thank you for your support!
I am already on clomid, so really hope they'll go for it this month. Think they will do a scan on the 1st appointment. Trying not to get my hopes up toooo much, as I know that success rates are low, but at least it feels like we are making some sort of progress???
fingers crossed.
would love to hear from anyone with IUI success stories ??

Is this your initial consultation? If so then IUI would not be guaranteed, though, as I say they are quite pragmatic in my experience, and if it were to be the right course of treatment then they wouldn't make you wait for the sake of it. But they may determine that a different course of treatment would be more likely to be successful.

Do you know who you are seeing?

Madigan · 13/01/2006 15:31

Hi,
Yes - seeing Mohammed Saleh
am sure that IUI is the right treatment for me at the mo, and my consultant has already recommended it. Definitely don't want to start IVF without giving IUI a go.

Hi Cindy

Thanks for your message. How are you getting on? Sorry to hear about your IUI ... have you another planned?

Well, UI had 2 unsuccessful IUIs at the Lister, and was fairly devastated as a result. On a break for a few months now. Of course have been secretly hoping that I will get pg naturally, but not so far. Have got an appointment at the ARGC soon (v good clinic, apparently), and will probably have another go at IUI before going for IVF. Am now officially desparate.... and very very fed up and despressed with it all. Have been ttc 2.5 years.

How long have you been ttc?
