The gp rang me yesterday with my result but I was at work so really would'nt ask any questions plus was not expecting her to call so only really managed to say 'ok, thanks for calling' Blush. She said result should be over 25 but it was 24 so borderline so could suggest my ov are struggling but better to retest next month for clearer picture.
I have looked up a bit and most websites say it should be over 30 but some labs prefer it be over 40. Also some websites say a low reading suggests you have not ov and others say it does'nt mean you not ov just got got got enough progestrone to sustain it if egg was fertilized so Confused. Also I am pretty sure I did ov this month, as temp gone up and ewcm.
Also I have had a chest infection this two weeks. Could this have affected things this month?
Basicially any info would be appreciated as don't really know anything about this. Thanks

That's not too low but usually it's accepted it should be over 30. What length is your average cycle? Do you know when you ovulate? When I had my bloods done, the highest I got was 28 when I has the bloods done 7 days after I'd charted I ovulated...if you ovulate early/alte it can produce unrepresentative results. The test should ideally be done 7 days before you get af.

Its usually 28 days, occasionally shorter though anything between 18 and 28.
According to fertility friend ov day 14 this month, which is a late ov for me its normally between day 10 - 12. So test was done 6 dpo but 7 days before af due.

I think they like to see above 30. Mine was consistently below 25 but I knew I was ovulating as was temp charting/using OPKs. I just think they were 'weak' ovulations. I started taking 50mg of Vitamin B6 (in addition to my conception vits) and they really helped! I actually got a bfp the month I started so no doubt a co-incidence but you never know! I did read that B6 can help with progesterone levels.

Thanks have been taking vitamin b6 for last 12 months. But will continue.

How long have you been TTC for? As i'm over 35 and had been TTC for 6m+ we got referred to a fertility clinic for more tests and a scan of my ovaries etc

oflip · 24/12/2011 20:09

well, my levels were 16 at day 21.....They told me to take clomid, i didnt.

I dont think that at day 21 every single women ovulate, it can be longer it can be shorter.
I wonder waht my levels would be at day 18 or day 28...hmmm?

I have ov pains and have to take pain killers every month, i have all the symptoms and have been pregnant 7 times in my life.

Im not convinced about these tests tbh.

Good luck x

Been trying for 12 months. I'm nearly 34. Been pregnant 5 times, never really had a problem getting pregnant but sadly lost 3.

so sorry to hear that orange, have you had any tests done? I've had one loss which is bad enough without going through it 3 times. I would ask your GP to refer you for further tests. Have you had Day 3 ones done (LH & FSH) & your DP/DH a sperm sample?

orangeLFDThead · 25/12/2011 09:56

Had all the tests for mc but that many years ago had to take aspirin daily when pregnant with my two boys. Having day 3 ones done on wednesday I think if af behaves itself. Dh has had test still waiting the results. Sorry for your loss pie. Are you still having tests?
