Periods over year have changed from every 28 days to every 26 or sometimes every 32 days. How do i calculate best conception day? We are going to start trying soon and need advice!

I am in a similar position to you so I use a persona as it tells me when I'm ovulating. Some months it can be day 14 to day 19. Worked with DS hopefully it will again.

Welcome geraldine, I too am an advocate of Persona. If you're in a hurry though it can take 2 or 3 months to get to know your cycels and give an 'ov' symbol. Poss start using OPK's??? The pack will tell u which day to start and bear in mind you may need 2 packs with irregular cycles! Clearblue is the best as it has 7 sticks!!! Good luck, let us know how you get on!!

Hi Geraldine

I too have irregular periods, since coming off the pill in August. Just got my AF today so its been about 50 days since last AF!! Thought I was pregnant this month (due to no show of AF sooner) but £40 of pregnancy tests over a few weeks told me I was not.

I think this month we will just BD every other day (therefore will prob be dead by end of month!) and if we have no luck, will try Persona from next month.

Good luck!

Hi Geraldine, I was in the same position as you, though my periods varied from 28 days to 6 months! We used Ovulation Predictor Kits. You start testing on the first possible day and do it every two days after. It worked for me, I got pregnant the first month we tried.

I was the same, went off pill and didn't actually have a period - until I found out I was pregnant - really lucky huh? I was temperature taking every morning and noting ovulation signs that my body was producing which you can chart and it can tell you when you are leading up to a fertile phase. Taking Charge of Your Fertility: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and Reproductive Health by Toni Weschler is a fantastic book which goes through all this stuff. Good luck!!!

The initial kit is about £60-65 and includes all the sticks for the first month. Thereafter you need to buy a pck of test stick costing £9.99. It is a godd investment if there are cyeles you don't want to get pg and interferes so little with daily life etc... Loads of people on here have got pg with it!!!!

Bogwoppit · 11/11/2003 14:28

Helsbels · 11/11/2003 14:51
