Exercise / valium during two week wait...

Well, not together obviously... but -

Wondering what people thing about exercising (aerobics, lifting weights, spinning classes, jogging) - is it safe for during the 2ww? I really want to stay in shape whilst TTC-ing and go a bit mental if I can't get to the gym.

Also, I am heading off soon on a very long haul flight (30 hours Shock) and wanted to knock myself out with some valium during the flight. It'd be about 10 days past ovulation...do you think that'd be safe?

Thanks Xmas Smile

Haha that should be 'think,' not 'thing'!

I have no idea about valium but exercise is fine. I have friends who were running up until around 5 months pregnant and at the gym lifting weights (under guidance) after that. I plan to keep exercising if I ever get pg.

Exercise is fine.
I would probably steer clear of the valium personally. It's definitely considered a risk in the third trimester but I'm not so sure about early on. With it being the type of drug it is, I would expect a doctor would only recommend it if the benefits clearly are more than the risks. In your case, there is no risk apart from being a bit tired after a long journey, so not worth the risk.

Definite no for the valium. It's a benzodiazepine and can cause cleft lip and palate in the first trimester. Fair enough 10 days post ovulation is very early and your embryo would only just be implanting. It might be fine but probably best not to take the risk.
As for exercise, its fine isn't it? As long as you're just doing your normal intensity.

Thanks ladies - happy I can thrash around at the gym, but sad about not being able to obliterate myself for 30 hours Wink - makes sense I guess!

Thanks
