the faintest of faintest of faintest of lines....

I know this has been done a thousand times or more. And I know that I am sadly clutching at straws but I am cd25 of a 25-28 day cycle. I did 2 cheapie tests mon and wed this week (they were the early tests). Nothing. Then last night after a few drinks I did another and saw the faintest of lines at about 10 mins (it says don't read after 10 mins). Then today (unfortunately I didn't use FMU) I did another (yes I thought I'd got more chilled about the whole TTC thing but it appears not!!!), and after 5 mins the faintest of faintest of faintest of shadows rather than a bleed of colour on the test. If that makes sense.

Tell me it's game over this month- I need a reality check. I don't want this to ruin christmas for me, I feel like i'm being so silly (as DH pointed out!) for clutching at straws.

I guess my point is- do you see a shadow on these things when you're not pg anyway?

I think that generally speaking a positive is a positive, no matter how faint? I'd give it a day or two and try again - 9dpo (?) is still very early :)

If it is a true positive it will get darker pretty quickly so wait a day or two and then use FMU and it will tell you one way or another.

As a poas addict - I have only ever seen a shadow that could possibly be a BFP when it has been a BFP but I have just tested a day or two too early. The next time has been more of a proper first line.

Thanks for your replies. (you're all very kind, I know I'm a bit nuts with this really!!).

Used FMU today and got the faintest of faintest of fainteset of lines but (although I dumped the ones from previous of days as got annoyed with my own madness! so have nothing to compared it to) it appears darker than the previous days. Like I don't have to tolt it to the light or anything.

According to the CBFM I am 12-13 dpo today.

I have my night out with friends who've flown over to stay with me tonight, and I am reknowned for being a bit of the life and soul. Deep down I know this will end up being a BFN however I don't want to take the risk with drinking now.... what would you do? I have a superdrug own brand upstairs but no more FMU.

Any tips?

My advice is to piss on the Superdrug stick then you will know for sure. Don't worry about fmu, just have a drink now then try not to drink for a couple of hours and then take the test in a couple of hours time. collect a sample, if it looks quite concentrated, dip the superdrug stick in it.

These cheapies are hard to interpret early on. I had a similar situation and spent an entire morning using about ten different ones before I went out to Superdrug. A line is a line, but if there isn't any colour at all in it then it might not be.

P.s- I have had period pains all last night and this morning. My head is telling me "you fool, accept you're not pregnant this month and go and enjoy the festivities", my heart is saying "maybe just maybe..."

Thanks for being so kind everyone. I wasn't ttc for that long this time and so I feel a bit of a fraud on here. I used CBFM this time so don't know if that helped and only dtd every 3 days (maybe 3/4 times over the month!), unlike previous months when we'd been swi eod and sick of it!!

I never thought that my faintest of faintest of faintest line would turn into a BFP!
