Ds 10 mths but still no AF??

My ds is now 10 mths and still bf but also on solids. Bf well cut down but I still have not had AF. Surely it should have returned by now? Could I still get pregnant- not using contraception? X

My dd was 14 months when I got mine for the first time, think that's about average for those still bf. Night weaning is supposed to help if you haven't already. HTH xxx

Thanks serendipity. Yes he has just been weaned at night this past week. Hope I don't get preg again but would not be the end of the world! X

My cycles didn't come back (still only on second one) until DD was totally weaned (ie no BF at all) - 16m. This is a really useful website. www.kellymom.com/nursingtwo/resources/ttc-while-bf.html

my periods did not return until I stopped breast feeding and yes you can get pregnant.

my DS is 13 months, and mine didn't come back until 3 weeks after i cut him down to just a bedtime feed. assuming that AF means i am ovulating, then i might be in my 2 ww :) however yes, you could get pregnant before your first AF, my midwife has 3 children and she said she never had a period between children, as both dc 2 and 3 were conceived in first cycle before AF returned.

I feel like it sounds patronising to say this, but it's the first answer that leapt to mind after your second post - if you don't want to get pregnant, just make sure you use contraception. Otherwise it rather sounds like a part of you is hoping to get pregnant.

fwiw, I bf and cut down once my son was on solids, but didn't get periods back until he was around 12 months, maybe even 14.

ds2 will be one in a few days and I still have not had mine either. And I stopped breastfeeding a few months ago. Not that I'm complaining, it's great :) But do panic a bit that they'll start in the middle of a busy shop when i'm wearing white skinny jeans.

I didn't get AF back for 10 months after DS was born. I'd stopped BF at 9 months then AF came a month later
