Hi just wondered if anyone out there can advise! I have had 2 mc this year and 5 months on nothing! My periods have changed they are really heavy, cramps go on for days and my periods last longer. I've been reading about thyroid sypmptons and wondered maybe that's the problem? I have booked in to see the doctor but that is in a couple of weeks. So I was just wondering if anyone else out there have experienced the same problem and what the outcome was. Also to add I am 43 and I have 2 older children whome I conceived easily! Or am I going through early menopause?! Confused

Hi :)

Sorry for your losses, twink .

I have an underactive thyroid and I've heard it does affect conception - not sure about periods though as I was on cerazette when I was diagnosed (so no periods).

If your periods are heavy you could also be anaemic, and that can cause problems ttc too - try and get checked for that, too, if you can. The good news is that either of those are totally treatable.

Have you mentioned your MCs to the Dr? If you're over 35 they should be sending you for tests after 6 months without conception, I'd bet they'd refer you sooner if they know you've mc twice.

Good luck :)

Hi thanks for that advice.
Will mention getting tested for anaemia too! I haven't told them about the 2nd mc I didn't think that they would bother checking the resons why I haven't fallen pregnant again because of my age!? Getting old is horrid! You take things for granted when you r young, then past 40 you seem to fall to bits!!! :)

I have an underactive thyroid and my periods are extremely heavy. I don't know if this is related though.
