i don't know whether to laugh or cry
i had successful surge on opk last cycle and dp and i did it twice at the right time. then my bl**dy af arrived on day 24 - quite heavy for 2 days, then stopped. then spotting for about 5 days. (had this spotting at 4 1/2 weeks with ds). was in russia this week (i know it's balmy) and have stinking cold, so didn't really think about it then last night my boobs were so sore i just did a test this am to be sure i wasn't pregnant - as i have been taking ibuprofen and drinking (not like a fish - but every day). so does it mean i AM pregnant, or does it mean i WAS, and lost it and the hormone is still in the body?
thanks everybody

I found out I was pregnant with ds like this. Had what I thought was a period for a day, then it suddenly stopped. Sat for 3 hours really worrying that if I was pregnant the bleeding would be bad news, dp got fed up with me moaning told me to do a test, & we now have a 21 month old. Didn't have any more bleeding, so perhaps it was an implantation bleed.

Hope the same is true for you!

madgirl · 07/11/2003 15:47

i thouhgt u were onlu supposed 2 have a "ligth period " if you had one at all?
sorry- ds on knee - sick as well!

I would also say implantation bleed. I was sure I was miscarrying DD, about a week after we found out I was pregnant (5 weeks gest, we were trying and so tested early). I went to the loo one morning and spotted bleeding . I was terrified (I've lost a baby before at 26wks) and just sat frozen to the seat and cried. DH found me a few mins later (had heard me from the kitchen). We phoned the out of hours clinic and were told to come for a scan to check that everything was ok. That scan was done on New Years Day 2001 at 6+3 and there she was, tiny and in perfect working order ! I can't tell you how happy we were to see that tiny, almost imperceptible heartbeat . Our 15 month old DD is testament to the fact that a bleed doesn't necessarily mean a loss or a false positive (didn't think you could get a false + anyway). Take heart and the best of luck.

madgirl · 07/11/2003 15:58

why does me being sick make it any more likely?

madgirl · 07/11/2003 15:59

oh thanks wsm, i guess the bleed was so utterly red and real (not brown like the spotting later_ that i was sure it was just a period. however, i am starting to get a little (just a little) bit excited.

My grandmother continued to bleed during her pregnancy with my Father. He arrived safe and sound.

My closest friend bled for 3 months with her first pregnancy, which also resulted in a healthy babe.

Good luck!

Jemma7 · 07/11/2003 16:17

It certainly not impossible - i would defo get down to an early pregnancy unit and get it checked out!

Good luck

a few weeks back i was reading a thread about how annoying it is when people start a conversation about sth , get lots of replies, and then p**s off never to be seen again, so thought i would let you know that I AM pregnant, still too early for them to see an embryo heartbeat but looks ok at the moment! thanks for your support here.
