Evening ladies..I'd really liuke to hear from anyone who has experienced early pregnancy cramping, or prolonged pre menstrual cramping.. this is my first cycle TTC since coming off the pill and i have had what feel like menstrual cramps for at least the past week. 28 days would be tomorrow, but when i have come off the pill before cycles have always been longer (30 to 35).

So would menstrual cramping happen for so long before a period? Never had any cramping with DS 1. No sore boobs either, which i had from early on when pregnant before. Any experiences similar to mine?

Thank you in advance!

Sorry to be the voice of reason. But as someone who ttc for what felt like ages..... You're not pg till you're pg. no point guessing or getting your hopes up. Wait till you are late ( according to your longest cycle). Then test. Fingers crossed for you though. I do think some of us are magically fertile the first month off the pill. I was first time we ttc!

I might be a tiny bit mad, but not stupid! is it not natural for someone to get their hopes up - just wondering if 10 day long period pains were common before a period! or not?

I get cramping from a few days after ov until my period most months, so yes for me it would be normal. We've been trying year and I haven't had a BFP yet. Some people with cramps get a BFP, some don't. It's not a symptom you can rely on.

Bear in mind that a natural period will likely be heavier and crampier than your pill bleeds so it could just be the lead up to that.

Good luck.

I've had long cramps when I've not been pregnant and exactly the same when I have been pregnant.

As sprinkles says, you can hope that its a good sign (and it may well be) but the only way to know for sure is once you're late for AF and you've got two lines on a stick.

It's the age old thing - pregnancy symptoms and pre-menstrual symptoms can be confused for one another.
I did get cramps when I was pregnant with DS1, I felt like period was just around the corner, hence why I didn't test till I was 7 weeks pregnant.
But I also find that I do get achey and crampy for a week or so before getting my period and I've noticed that I'm noticing it more since TTC.
So the answer is that yes it isn't unusual, you could be pregnant, but you might not.

Oh this waiting business is a tad infuriating! I'm now cd 39 - cramping has been on and off but mainly everyday.. I had really sore nipples for a day or two a week ago, but not now. Three tests so, all neg. Boo hoo..

Coming off the pill does weird things to our bodies...i had every pregnancy symptom going in the first six months of ttc, so don't be surprised that you're having cramping.

But cd39 is loooong. I hope you either get a bfp or af soon, preferably the bfp :)

tinybitmad · 21/12/2011 20:07

Hey thanks fore replying.. don't suppose it really matters but the tests so far have been cheepies.. I will give it a week then perhaps test again i think.

Hey ho and festive greetings to all! well on cd46 i get a very very faint line... tummy is still feeling crampy... is a line a line (as the saying goes)? i am so pleased and at the same time don't want to get my hopes up as the line is so faint...
