Blood Sample on a Saturday

Hi,

We've been TTC for 2 years and have finally been referred to a gynaecologist who's ordered blood samples to test for HCG and LH. I need to have the samples taken on day 2 and day 5 of my cycle but it's looking like tomorrow will be the official day 1 (only spotting today) so day 2 will be Saturday! Obviously my GP doesn't open Saturdays (argh!) so does anyone know where I could get a sample taken on a Saturday morning as, if the answer is nowhere, due to the stupid, clockwork regularity of my stupid periods, I'm going to have to wait 3 months before getting the samples and nothing can happen until the blood tests have been done!

There should be a phlebotomy (sp?) clinic at your local hospital. Or phone your early pregnancy unit - they will know where you can go. That said I had a friend who could take blood, so headed round to her house for weekend blood samples.

Now I have calmed down and the red mist has dissipated I've re-read the instructions and it's just one test that needs to be done between day 2 and day 5 NOT on both days so I can make an appointment for Monday. Phew...and breathe.

I was about to say it doesn't have to be day 2 exactly.

I have to have the same blood tests in about a couple of weeks - yep that's right, right around Christmas time. I am trying to work out whether days 2 to 5 will actually fall on one of the few days that the clinic is open. Irregular cycles so who knows!

I couldn't get the tests done last cycle because AF fell while we were on holiday ... !

My Day 21 test (which does have to be done on one day) fell in the middle of the royal wedding weekend, then the late may long weekend. I ended up getting it done a day early on a friday rather than leave it for another months.
